Just wanted to share this data point with the community. Having just gotten out of my 7 series lease, I wanted something to hold me over until I came across another unicorn. This is one of those cars one has to see in person and it really grows on you. The grill is no doubt pretty big, however it has much more subtleties and styling cues that don’t show up well in pictures!

Also, the 2021 M340i’s and M440i’s have been getting a lot of flack for the lack of burbles and pops. Having had a 2020 M340i, I can confirm that is very much true. It does not pop or burble on downshifts/upshifts anymore, the only time you hear a burble or two is on decel. BUT, the 48V mild hybrid system changes the game with the torque delivery in every mode. It just feels more eager with the slightest bit of throttle input. And in Sport +, the newest thing I noticed is the car has an added bit of theater, since it has a mild jolt while shifting at redline with the paddles. And the biggest benefit is the seamless stop-start system, so no more rough stops and jolty starts (even though, they took away the button to turn it off  ). In total, the 48V hybrid system adds more to the B58 engine platform, than it takes away in the form of sound.

Thank you sir! This was not a custom order car btw, it was on the lot. With the color way and the options I wanted.

Thank you! I’m excited to see your convertible, you will definitely have to post some pictures to show off your spec!

Oh wow. I’m assuming this was signed in March then? You used 0.00086 as MF so I figured you had your incentives locked in for a custom order. Dealer must really be chasing that last unit for the month, can’t imagine 13% off pre incentives for any other reason on a well specced M440i. Love the artic blue!

Yes that is correct, this was signed on 03/31!
And thank you, Arctic race blue is one of my favorite BMW colors now. Shows differently depending on the time of day.

Fantastic deal and beautiful car! I haven’t been a fan of the large grill, but in certain colors (like yours) it’s definitely growing on me. Enjoy in good health.

Congrats and enjoy! I agree, the grill isn’t bad in person.

Easy fix for the exhaust is slapping the M Performance exhaust on - I had my 2021 M340i optioned with it - absolutely no regrets with that, it sounds great.

It really does, below is a video of mine. It does pop and burble some while youre driving, but unlike the 2020’s no pops and burbles while revving it in Park position. Overall I love it!

That sounds so good! I think it burbles just enough now! After 10k miles my 2020 would sometimes slightly burble on the overrun even in comfort mode. Bit overkill imo.
