Signed! - Chevy Equinox EV RS Loaner(3K) Onepay $3800 15K/24m

Hi All,

Thanks for helping on all the ideas for the Equinox EV deal. Knowledge is power!

It was a long day, as I had to go to two dealerships and spend whole day (which I never did for a dela like this) but in the end came up with a car that I liked. Sorry for the long story…

First I made a deal with dealer #1 for 3815 or so for LT with 34K MSRP brand new with 2 miles on odo. It was a black color exterior which was my least preferred, but we were ready to go and started signing paperwork as the number was great. I had $1750 + $250 Lease cash, $1000 Conquest Ownership Lease and $1500 Conquest Lease and a Supplier Code for $1000. We were taking pictures and pulled credit and when the finance guy was finalizing the deal they told me I only had GSV code and needed a GSE code and they cannot apply the rebate. He said he doesn’t know what it means and he keep telling me unless I bring the GSE code I cannot get the supplier rebate. I was one hour away from home and my ride was already half way down and I had to bring it back and to leave and they did not even offer me a ride or suggestions. I was so …

While I was heading to this one, one of the dealers(dealer #2) I worked with was following up and I told him that I already made a deal and on the way to pick up and he threw me a similar deal while I was heading and I refused earlier. Then while I was leaving the dealer #1, I told the dealer #2 if he can stack the supplier code I had or not. He said he will do the deal but the deal he offered me earlier was just sold, but he had another loaner for similar price. I told him I needed a deal for $3800 and 15K miles. He said he will do it.

Fortunately, the dealer #2 was only 45 mins away from this and on my way to home and we detoured to get this deal. Once I reached I didn’t realize this was a loaner and had 3K miles on it, but with everything happened in the morning and the price was still attractive, I went ahead with the deal and started working on. After couple of hours of wait, this guy told me the same thing about the supplier code and I was so mad.. But he explained that it is not a deal break I just have to ask the friend to get the EV code instead of the regular one.

My close friend owns a UPS store who was eligible for supplier code and he gave me his email and I setup his account to get the code and I understood what really happened . When we request the Auth number in there there was an option for Chevrolet cars and EV cars in general and I chose the first option instead of the second. So I had to choose the EV option and got the code they needed and all was good.

Had to wait for another hour for them to do deep clean and wash the vehicle as it was pretty beaten up (in context of new car/loaner). After all said and done, they brought to the front and we were checking and they scratched the rim on the front passenger side. It was pretty bad and this just happened!

Sales guy offered loaner and they will fix it and call me back and eventually came back and said there is no loaner and I can take it back and they will send me a loaner to swap to my home. I told them I am not driving this car like that. Had to bring a manager in and he looked at it and he agreed to swap all the wheels from another similar vehicle.

Took another 2 hours for them to do all that and not really sure what they did in the back that long and eventually came up with new wheels(?!?). Then we were going around checking the accessories and the charge was missing and the dual cord was missing and inflator kit was missing. So he went to another one sitting inside show room and stole them all and gave to me (which is even more crazy).

With all said and done we got the car for a color that I really liked for the price point where we wanted to be for 15K miles despite all the huddles and wailings. If I had known the miles before I would have negotiated better price but with everything happened I was just happy to drive home!

I can for sure share the dealer #1 if anyone wants to try that 2 mile odo car with 5K MSRP discount. He still has that one left.

I could not add the calc in the signed forum page and was keep throwing error “Enter correct format or something”. So I am sharing it here.

good deal…how many miles in the loaner?

3035 miles loaner.

Autonation store ?

How do you find a loaner to begin with ?

The dealer offered to do better deal on loaner to begin with when the first deal went south I just went for the loaner. I still could have done the first deal, if that dealer explained the whole supplier code issue better.

Considering the loaner had a much higher MSRP vs the original you still did well. Don’t think there was much if any meat on the bone left.

How does anyone mimic this?

Both Autonations in Orlando have very few Equinox EV inventory it seems like. Curious which dealers OP worked with.
