Not quite as strong as last week’s deals, but this was the best that I could negotiate this week for black/black. Target was $6750 single pay for my 9.75% ZIP. $6750 could have gotten silver.
good deal. Last week was a whole different market (we were doing $5999 with 7.75% tax ) but with the overall consensus that all Acura stores have made to not “race to the bottom” — this is solid.
FYI: if one is wondering why prices (including brokers) have increased: (plus dwindling inventory)
July 2025: RV decreased 1% and dealer incentives slightly worsened for Southern CA:
per Edmunds:
.00105 MF and 44% residual: 24/7500
.00120 MF and 40% residual: 36/7500
(-.00080 for one-pay)
Incentives: $7500 + $4000 Conquest: taxable.
Non-taxable: (wasn’t itemized in my contract- directly reduced agreed upon (selling) price)
$2300 Regional Captive Lease Offer
$3500 Dealer / Lease / Finance Cash
$10,850 Captive Lease Offer
Nicely done! You didn’t want silver? Was it the last silver car with hood damage in Tustin?
I did not- all of my cars since 2013 have been black- I like adding another full-time job keeping it as close to prestine as I can. #OCD #NoSwirls
(I have help since I get all my cars- including leased ones- professionally 2 stage paint correction and then ceramic coated at my detailer’s shop. They are OCD too. (anyone looking for high end (ie not cheap) detail shop- DM and my referal should get you a discount.) Then, I use Washmist Waterless wash and plush microfiber towels to clean ideally 2-3x week, but more realistically 1-2x.
Not sure if there was a silver one with hood damage at Tustin.
man I need lessons. Love my black cars but pain in the ass to keep em shining in S. Florida weather.
Washmist: How to use: https://youtu.be/VhiBbYwoWZ8
I have an additional challenge- I can’t park my cars in the garage- too much stuff in there. (And RS eTron GT Project_513/2 has no remedy EV battery recall where they say don’t charge over 80% and park outside- in case of “thermal event”.)
So I really am a glutton for punishment. I temporarily have access to garage for Q5 and then I could get away with WashMist- 1x/week and only ~ 10-15 minutes.
Sam here lol. Garage has stuff and 1 car in already. The blacks stay outside lol. Thanks for sharing the link. Will definitely look into this waterless thing. My only concerns is spiral marks. Hopefully not an issue.
Wash induced damage is definitely the enemy (aka swirls).
Years ago- the owner of Elite Finish Detailing- Wes Walz was just getting started when I was a fellow in San Diego. Dealer “accidently” had their hose lie across the front of my brand new then A4. There was a 7” horizontal line on the front of the hood.
I started going to different body shops and detailers to see what potential fixes. Wes told me that it was just on the superficial clear coat and he could paint corrected that. (Body shop said had to be repainted and some feathering BS).
Dealer agreed to pay for paint correction with Wes. I brought the car in to his newly rented single garage space. He appreciated that I brought it in clean already so that he would spend some extra time polishing the entire car to get it to really pop. He said if I had interest- he could teach me some of the tips/tricks of the trade and how to best maintain black. (and taught- NEVER allow dealer to wash your cars- even if free- unless you love swirls).
My mind was blown as I had been always using water/car wash bucket and sponge method. (and dried car with Super Absorber towel). He put together a quote for some retail products as he would be eventually be selling them- the waterless wash became WashMist. And Wes taught me why the proper lubrication provided by polymers in WashMist and the deep, plush Korean microfiber towels with proper, no-pressure technique was critical in preventing the marring/wash damage/swirls.
[After 2 separate dealers not following my instructions- they each learned a $2500 lesson in having to pay to have my eTron SUV 2 stage paint correct and Ceramic Pro re-coated. I now have a sign in all of my cars when I go to service: NO CAR WASH: black car ceramic coated. NO TEST DRIVES- unless for diagnostics that I place on the dash and in the letter and reminder to service advisor + porter]
It’s an art as much as a science.
I learned over the years (and acquired the equipment) to do paint correction and apply ceramic and graphene nano coatings, but it takes several days, garage, and excellent lighting. I tried to do it outside and when it was 100 degrees in LA with my first graphene experience and there were so many high spots that I ended up taking it to my now local go-to detailing shop to fix.
Now- I just pay them since I find the value they add and save my time (and back).

Awesome. I have a personal detailer who takes care of our cars every 2 weeks and uses the 2 bucket method. Thankfully havent had any swirls but yes our BMW service advisor who is now my buddy of 10 years knows that my cars are never to be washed by them. Even though they have hand wash for higher end cars, I never let them touch mine. He has similar signs like u mentioned for me and a few other maniacs like me, printed and laminated in his drawer
Tustin did have that last silver one - past tense - that they were blowing out a few weeks ago.
Are you planning to do chrome delete on the back side trim to “un-hearse” it?
You need a German Shepherd (aka German Shredder) in your life and in your cars, lol! This was when mine turned one year old and was blowing his puppy hair out.

And my next plan: black optics/chrome delete on the exterior (dealer wanted $4k as ADM- some other owners in LA said they had their’s done for $450 so I’m looking for that deal (likely w/o the wheels) and looking for ideas on how to improve the non-impressive center console (Chevy parts pin). And consider adding OEM Acura Rear Cargo cover- why this wasn’t standard and required drilling and riveting is mind-scratching.
You hearsed him.
