Took us a while to get this deal, ended up with two dealerships competing. The original vehicle the dealer offered was under stop sale which they didn’t tell us about and we almost drove 2 hours and wouldn’t have been able to take delivery. So they upgraded the car slightly to one with a higher package (new car offered has tech pkg vs convenience pkg, bigger wheels).
Monthly price then also went down $20 when signing due to them overestimating taxes, $595 to $575. Also they originally only wanted to do 10k miles and was able to get 12k for same price. Wife is super happy she was close to settling on a Honda which she really didn’t want.
I still can’t believe these BMW’s lease so poorly. Almost $600/mo for a base engine X1…wild. Discount seems solid, though, despite the silly “Appearance Protection Package.”
As long as your wife is happy, though, the price is irrelevant
Yea market just high it seems, we had a 22 Highlander and to lease another would have been $200 more than our current lease. The Honda Accord she was looking at was about $100 cheaper.
Interestingly, unleaded gasoline is basically the same price, if not a little cheaper, than 5 years ago (as of November, inflation-adjusted).
Regardless, I’m just pointing out that the cost to lease a base-engine $46k X1 seems inflated in comparison to the value ratio for other brands. It’s not a knock on this deal specifically (which seems fine), just an observation on BMW’s pricing structure over the past few years, which used to be rather favorable for leasing.
