Locked up a Sierra EV Elevation Standard Range today. Wanted the extended range but couldn’t find one with loaner status in time. But all in all, happy with the deal I made. 1st lease ever. Thanks to all for the insight and advice.

Tried to close on a Cadillac Lyriq right after the Sierra, but they evidently want to keep that one for another hundred days. lol. Oh well… 1 out of 2 ain’t bad.
Nice deal! I’m wondering how all EV leases are gonna be after today. Will be interesting to see how manufacturers handle it. If I needed a new truck lease I’d of jumped on it
Thanks! I didn’t need a new truck lease 2 weeks ago when I read about the expiring credits, but I figured if they are having a fire sale, I might as well take advantage! lol. Now we’ll see if I can live the next 3 years without the wireless Apple Car Play that I have come to love.
Correct. GM ditched Apple Car Play and Android Auto in favor of their own proprietary program on their EV’s. Theirs is based on Google OS. So far it’s actually pretty solid, though not as attractive. So far I’ve only encountered two issues; 1) Google is vastly dumber than Siri when asking it questions, For example, I’ll ask “what is the phone number for XXX in Raleigh,” and Google won’t understand the question. But Siri still works via bluetooth, so I can still ask Siri. But it’s now lacking some flexibility with displaying the results and integrating with the vehicle through Car Play. For example, before it would show me the number and ask if I wanted to call it and make it clickable so that I could even quickly map there if I wanted. I can do something similiar typing into the integrated Google Maps, but I haven’t been able to get it to do that using my voice. 2) The only other issue is I can’t figure out where/how to see my messages. It will read a text one when they initially come through, but I can’t see how to reply to a text if I don’t do it right in the moment it comes in. Other than that, I am finding their system pretty solid. If they can make the Google Assistant integration just a touch smarter, it will be a worthy replacement.
So far, I think it’s just been on select EVs. It’s been a slow rollout. That said, as recent as this year, they are still saying they will expand the decision to all brands under the GM umbrella and eventually to their gas options as well. When they announced it at the end of 2023, it was universally hated. And I hate it too, as it’s just a way to push you into a subscription model, but I will say what they have come up with is a polished and viable alternative. So there’s that at least…
