Signed - 2025 Volvo XC90 Ultra 36m/7500 - $822/m $2500 down - please help with MSD math

Signed deal - SIGNED! DEAL | LEASEHACKR

Just signed for a 2025 XC90 Ultra 7-seater on a 36m/7500 mile lease. Never did a lease before and added on MSDs x 10 at the end so I’m VERY confused on whether all the numbers add up and would really appreciate your looking at this.

The DAS has me very confused between the rebates and the $8500 in MSDs that I get back in 3 years/lease end…

Is the delta between the total cash you put up and the MSD ($11,850-8,500)

Thank you!

So my actual cost of ownership over the life of the lease would be:
$(11,850-8,500) + 36*822 = $32,942 inclusive of all taxes, fees, etc as well as the $1,000 tire and dent protection I fell for at the end? (in my defense, we have had LOTS or tire issues on cars recently)

What would you grade this deal given wife had very particular color combo in mind? B+??

…+ 35*822. First month is included in your $3k DAS, I think.

Sorry, forgot to ask, if my wife falls in love with this car and tomorrow’s XC90 doesn’t entice her, what is my ‘savings’ by buying the car out in 1-2 months? I mean on the lease charges.

Thanks

You don’t want to buy a $80k Volvo. Unless you plan on keeping it for life.

Fair. But it’s really 81k - 8500 rebates - 7k negotiated down so a 66k Volvo???

Depreciation is volatile and uncertain over short time frames like 2-3 years so that could easily cancel out your rent charge “savings”

You’re virtually guaranteed to come out ahead by buying it out and owning for 5+ years vs successive leases

Is the “Ultra” a new trim or something? I’ve seen that mentioned before.

Changed name from Ultimate in 2024 to Ultra in 2025. Pretty dumb

They’ll be dominating the 25-32yr old market in no time.
