You’ve got to be kidding
Hmm what’s the deal here?
I would not recommend leasing this car given that your TCO would be nearly $58k over 36 months. That’s not chump change.
Is Rivian offering any low interest finance offers on a purchase?
EDIT: What car is the trade? Is this $13.8k the highest trade offer you’ve received?
admins please move this to “worst deals you’ve seen” thread
Edit - To be clear, the goal is not to get the lowest LeaseHackr score
There are no referral credits or discount on this deal.
@Rigel2601 - I ran some rough finance numbers. See below for all the details. I assumed a 5.99% APR over 72 months. I have not checked Rivian’s website. I would recommend seeking out a referral credit for a minor discount.
Could you afford this?
I am not going to dissuade OP from getting the Rivian. I have an R2 on order. R1 is out of my budget. Anyway, I am here to educate folks, hoping they make the best financial decision.
Disclaimer: I am not a financial advisor. I am just a car guy.
If you haven’t picked it up yet, then don’t pick it up. Horrible deal.
I though Rivian has 2.99% finance for 60 months, no?
Why not just do a Google search for the info?
thats like $1600/month effective?
pretty embarrassing idk what the purpose of the post was
To make matters worse, isn’t CO the best state for leasing EVs?
DONT DO IT!! You can do so much better on these. I grabbed a R1S 93k MSRP for $759 /month $2200 DAS. Make sure you talk to a sales person and ASK FOR DISCOUNTS.
Without providing any additional details, this info is not helpful. Was yours a 2024 or 2025 model? What were the mileage terms? What discounts were applied to your deal?
Did you end up picking it up?
Why are you even on this forum if you’re going to sign deals like these? Has it not taught you a single thing?
Man this forum is rough. @Rigel2601 posted about trying to get into a Rivian R1S a few weeks ago and LH was completely silent/crickets. But then when he posts that he is excitedly picking up his custom order R1S, ya’ll beat the crap out of him for signing a dump deal.
Either help the guy out when he’s trying to figure out how to lease his Rivian, or just continue to stay silent after he literally signs what he said he would. There has been zero help for Rigel when he initially posted, and this thread is basically zero help other than dumping on him.
Also consider anything anti-EV always gets slammed into the landfill. Maybe if LH weren’t so quick to landfill anti-EV content ( @z0lt3c ) more users would have spoken up to tell @Rigel2601 to find something else instead of a custom order R1S (like maybe a GLE63s?). Other than a brief window of some overstock R1S, there haven’t been any good/cheap leases on that car.
There aren’t a lot of Rivian buyers out there compared to mainstream brands. It’s unfortunate that he didn’t get the specific help he needed, but the OP could have at least seen other brands with similar MSRPs to get a general idea of what he is paying for.
I myself wouldn’t bash anyone AFTER they have signed, but the OP said he’s about to sign it so maybe all the criticism would sway him into renegotiating. That’s helpful if you ask me.
Aside from that, can’t one just look up used values of R1S and see how strongly they hold? That should indicate what the real-life depreciation is… therefore lease payment should be relatively low, otherwise finance is the best way to go.
And if we don’t knock this one down, are we suppose to cheer it on like it’s the best deal ever? Like, WOW, is Rivian able to duplicate this for me?
I agree, there’s a way to help other Rivian buyers out. And there’s a way to communicate an assessment of this deal without mocking Rigel.
Do you need to call this a good deal? Nope. Your logic doesn’t make a lick of sense. But this forum crapping on a new user who had previously asked for help is low, even for LH standards.
PM me dealer?
