So been trying to score a deal on a Prologue, Ioniq 5 or Ariya. Well the Ariya won out for several reasons, none of the dealers I talked to wanted to be sub $200’s on the Ioniq and nobody wanted to get close to sub $5000 on a one pay Prologue. Found a dealer willing to do a Ariya Platinum+ e-4ORCE for $251/mo for 36mo 10k/yr tax included with just first DAS. Rolled the dice and got something sooner than I needed, but didn’t want to wait and be left out in the cold with no cheap EV deal. Added bonus of the Nissan is cheap miles, 10 cents to purchase more, so more flexible than the other two vehicles. Running 3 leases for the next couple months, probably turn the ID4 in early once the miles are tapped out. Got to post a pic of my fleet, 2 Ariya’s and ID4
I was wondering about driving to Colorado from Tx to get a lease to take home since it is the closest Zero Emissions state. Sounds like a great deal! Good Job
I was going to wait but didn’t want to risk out on no inventory. The Platinum Ariya has way more equipment than any other vehicle I was considering, if I held out I might have ended up with something for maybe a little less monthly and less equipment. I’m happy with how it worked out and the dealer was easy to work with.
Not correct. You have to register it in Colorado. There are options that allow you to get the lease credit and register in Colorado without previous Colorado residency.
I think my registration fees at purchase last year were around $1400 each. I’m currently 3 months late on registration because I didn’t want to drop the $1k and then re-up on a new lease. Sucks Colorado won’t let you xfer plates and registration credit. I’m going to run for Governor on that platform alone. First state I’ve lived in you can’t xfer existing plates, or take prior owner plates.
EVs they hit you hard because they add to registration what you don’t pay in gasoline tax.
You do get credit on unused portion of plates, need to report transfer of liability once you turn in the lease, if there’s time left on the plates. My $57k ID4 was just under $1000 so I’m assuming the same for this one.
Awesome deal and congrats on the lease! How do you like your Ariyas compared to the ID.4? I’m currently in a 2023 ID.4 Standard and looking at the Ioniq 5, Ariya, and Cadillac Optiq. Ariya seems to have a nicer interior but I wonder if the smaller cargo capacity really comes into play in real life. Also the one good thing I do like about the ID.4 is the insane turning radius haha
The ID4 is fine but there some things that are just annoying, the lack of information displayed is one. If you’re using CarPlay, there’s no way to know what song is playing or what radio station you are on(without backing out of Waze). Just a general lack of info/screen space and not an easy way to scroll through things like the Ariya. The climate control at night does not have back lit buttons. The cruise control buttons are not as easy to use as the Ariya. I’d say the cargo space is similar if not the same, I don’t notice. Tires on the VW are pricy and can’t be rotated, leading to less miles, every other car I’ve leased let you rotate the tires. The Ariya isn’t perfect either, it lacks buttons for the heated seats and steering wheel. The Ioniq has buttons for those. Fit and finish much better on the Japanese built Ariya vs the Chattanooga built ID4, some of the panel gaps/rattles pretty bad on the ID4. I’m over these stupid glass roofs that don’t open, completely worthless, excited for an actual sunroof on my new Ariya. Oh and why don’t the ID4 have a power port up front, first car I’ve ever had without a 12v outlet/cigarette lighter, they were forced to give you one in the back for the air pump, since none of these cars have a spare tire, don’t even get me started on that rant.
