SIGNED: 2025 Lexus RZ300e, $403/mo; $236/mo eff., $4,228 DAS ($3825 MSDs), 3yr/45k lease

Just signed my deal for a 2025 Lexus RZ300e Premium.

A few caveats to explain what’s going on with this deal. After days of negotiation, the agreed upon deal was $330/month for 3 years, 36,000 miles total with $330 DAS. At the end of the day, the underlying metrics of this figure is where I wanted to land. Here is the deal and calculator I started with:

CALCULATOR 1

MSRP: $50,214
Selling Price: $41,678 (-17%)
Rebates: $13,000
Term: 36 months/36k miles
Residual: 42% ($21,090)
Money Factor: 0.00105 (2.52% APR)
Acquisition fee: $795
Government fees: $170
Dealer fees: $687
Sales tax: 6.25%

Monthly payment: $330, $330 Due at Signing, Score: 13.5 years

At the business office, I wanted to accomplish a few things: apply MSDs and increase the mileage to 15,000 per year.

The finance person convinced me to add End of Lease Protection and Tire/Wheel - I will be doing a LOT of driving and ride share, so the car could/will get beat up. But I also discovered that my use of the car is prohibited, so I have to buy out the lease, not a problem. I’ll do that within a couple of months.

My paperwork on the signed page shows the following deal, modified with the additionals, the MSDs, and the higher mileage.

CALCULATOR 2

Selling price: $41,649.53
Add ons:

  • Tire/Wheel for 5 years $1,900
  • End of Lease protection: $875
  • Acquisition fee: $795 (note they moved this here, which is…interesting)
    Gross capitalized cost: $45,219.53

Rebates: $13,000
Term: 36 months/45k miles
Residual: 40% ($20,085.60)
Money Factor: 0.00105 (2.52% APR)
MSDs: 9, at $3825, revised Money Factor: 0.79%
Government fees: $170 (incl. above)
Dealer fees: $687
Sales tax: 6.25%

Monthly payment: $403.47, $403.47 Due at Signing. Score: 11.1 years.

There will also be two post sale rebates: one is the MOR-EV for $3500 and another is for ride share upon buyout the lease, $2500.

Here is CALCULATOR 3 showing the $6000 is post-sale rebates.

Sale price: $44,424.53
Rebates post sale: $6000

So with 9 MSDs and post all rebates, the effective monthly is $236 with a score of 18.9 years. The signed page shows $343 effective, and I am unsure why.

If I cancel the Tire/Wheel and End of Lease, the effective gets even better: $153/mo and 29.1 years.

Buyout:
I estimate my buyout / pay off to be about $32,500 including sales tax once it populates in the LFS system. After post-sale rebates: $26,500. Not bad for a “$50,000” Lexus. I also get the MSDs back.

I think I did pretty good and it all makes sense in my head. I will also update this as I proceed with modifications to the deal over the next couple of months (i.e. attain post-sale rebates, buyout the lease).

Happy to hear from the peanut gallery!

wow!! whats the post sale rebate?

is it only for MA?

If the dealership can do it for NY…I’d go get one

How/why does the MF/APR drop between Calc2 and Calc3?

? Both are 0.79% after MSDs

Nicely done but I would cancel the protections if you still can, especially since you’re buying it out. Who cares if you got some curb rash? Not that expensive unless you totally bust the rim which is hard with those fat tires. And tires aren’t that expensive, right?

True. And they’re the 18”. So plenty of sidewall.
