My first deal. Thanks so much for the great help and education on this forum!!! Car Dealers are sharks, but with the knowledge I gained here and some help from AI, I arrived at a good outcome.
That said, taking my eye off the ball cost me about $20 / month. The Selling price went from $64.2K up to $65.5K at signing and I missed it…
That said, I believe I got a solid deal to start and will be helping my family do the same.
Rebates included the $7500 federal tax credit and $5000 in retail cash. I also used FCA US Affiliate Rewards pricing to help get the price down from MSRP. Finally, I got a good trade offer on my '22 Hyundai Tucson and rolled the equity into the deal.

How much equity was rolled in?
So did you pay the DAS/first month with the trade as well? Or rolled everything in and paid the DAS and first month separately?
Rolled everything and paid DAS / First month separately.
This was the first time you mentioned having a trade. Was that trade part of the discussions you were having with the dealer(s) when you were getting quotes? With your trade involved this is effectively around $555 a month which is higher than the quotes you were talking about previously.
The Trade was not part of the discussions. I wanted to wait until we had a firm understanding of the price before talking about a trade.
Should I have not rolled the equity into the deal?
If you’re happy with it that’s all that counts but you said previously that you were at $450 a month with $450 due at signing without a trade being mentioned. Taking the trade amount into consideration you ended up at $461 a month effective. Apologies for my math on the previous post, I think I might have been thinking 36 month term for some reason or I had some other brain fart at the end of the day. Ideally the payment would have gone down with a positive trade involved though.
You are absolutely right. They changed the selling price from 64238 to 65558 and I didn’t catch it. It was really sneaky..
I appreciate you taking the time to critique the deal. Its my first and I intend to improve.
