This is my third lease with all of them being Mazdas. The first two (Mazda3 and CX-9) have been done thru an LH broker (thanks @AutoNinjas), this one I decided to go out on my own after getting quotes from brokers and challenging myself on getting a better deal.
From the broker offerings and SIGNED! deals I put together an offer that I sent to 4 tri-state (NY/NJ) dealers who had exactly the same model/trim/color in stock that I wanted looking for 10% off MSRP which should result in about $450/mo effective given my tax rate and incentives. Long shot but I also reached out to 2 MD dealers after seeing a very attractive MD deal here since I was planning to be in that area over the weekend. Lastly, not really relevant, but I had a low-mileage CX-9 to ground with 2 payments left, eligible for Mazda’s Pull Ahead program (forgives two payments up to $1k plus disposition fee).
Results are as follow:
- NJ dealer quickly came back with 9.7% off MSRP counter, the deal I ended up taking after a couple of snafus (see below ***)
- NY dealer asked to see NJ dealer deal to see if it can be beat and apologetically couldn’t
- NY dealer stated that the deals cannot be discussed over the interwebz and I had to come into their dealership (lol, LI)
- The rest were cordial botty comms asking me to come in for a test drive and re-asking me questions answers to which I submitted in my original inquiry.
So here we go:
2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV Premium Black on Black
Term: 12k/24
MSRP: $56,480
Selling price: $51,000 (9.7% off MSRP)
Incentives: $11,000 ($7500 EV + $1,000 Customer Bonus + $1,000 Lease Incentive + $1,500 Loyalty)
1st Month DAS ($454) + 23 payments of $454
I don’t have the lease agreement in front of me atm (will upload it, as well as the pics, later) but the Calc more or less matches the terms of the deal:
*** After agreeing to a deal with the NJ dealer, I got a call from Financing that they mistakenly applied the wrong tax rate (NJ vs NY) which would result in a >$20 higher monthly. Fine. Asked to see the breakdown of the numbers prior to me going to NJ to avoid any other surprises. The numbers received over e-mail showed slightly higher selling price and a monthly payment at DAS. The agreement was that there will be nothing DAS as I effectively prepaid 1 month’s payment to lock up the car. A terse e-mail (cc’ing GM) and a subsequent call from the GM quickly resolved all the issues/discrepancies.
