Nicely Done!
Did they reduce the residual on you since it was a loaner?

Im in texas too and dealers saying its not possible as negative depreciation gets kicked back. Regardless what deal you do, one pay or not. I believe the OP but im trying to deal on one and they are saying bank wont fund the deal that way. I explained the negative depreciation is acheck back to the customer and that should get rolled into the deal leading to the reduced effective monthly payment. He said he understood but still said it is not correct and wont work.
I am guessing this was the dealership in Southwest Houston. I tried explaining to them too but eventually gave up. The way dealers get around negative depreciation is by applying the rebates/incentives as down payment vs as reduction of Cap Cost. My contract shows >$9k as the one pay amount but my actual out of pocket was only $54xx.
I think what the dealer said is true about the contract not being able to show negative depreciation. But as @Ashwen_M said, there are ways dealers can structure the contract if needed.
Wow. Would love to replicate this in SW Ohio!
GM: Approved to rent our $55k brand new vehicle for 2 years
Also GM: Not approved for credit card
Sums up GM, lol
different banks bubba but you’ll get there one day
that’s the kinda’ deal i’m looking for in AZ for an Optiq. Most of the dealers have $1,700 to $2,500 in “mandatory” dealer (crap) add-ons. I’ve got one loaner vehicle on the line with the $1250 Costco, $2K Conquest, $500 military. Plus GM gives the dealer another $2K for courtesy vehicles. The dealer is throwing in another $1500 discount and “only” $500 of add-ons (window tint).
Here’s the issue. July 1st, the RV went from 84% to 74%. That’s a huge difference for a 24/10 lease. It has taken me from buy to ‘keep looking’.
Yeah. RV changed drastically for July. I was looking for a friend. I got $5500 one-pay for 24/12k end of June. Now, I guess it’s almost impossible to get one at that price unless the dealer is willing to discount heavily.
Just so I understand. The 54K is the MSRP. The dealer is taking off $9K for the loaner? And then you get the Costco/Conquest and such on top of that?
Wow- mind sharing the dealership? I’ll see if they can do something even close for me, and just have them ship it to me? Or I can fly and drive it back to AZ.
When manufacturers make such drastic adjustments to RV, they usually offset that with reduction in MF - and this is definitely the case for Optiq in July. In june the MF was 0.00335, now its 0.00126. I am able to get to similar numbers as my deal for this month - see calculator below.
It looks to be about $1000 more once you factor the 2.62% tax that you had in your original post.
See updated calculator - thia is closer
Nicely done but what’s up with the 13,940 miles / year? How did you manage that?
They are the first cadillac dealership I went to when I wash shopping for for an EV a few weeks ago. For a Lyriq lux 2 loaner, the offer is $1300 monthly
We visited Bayway Cadillac (SW Houston). The sales manager looked like Tony Soprano, gold chains and all! The lease price quoted for a loaner Optiq was almost 3x what you paid!
Excellent write-up, thank you! I’m very new to leasing–always bought used. We’re in Houston, looking to lease a loaner Optiq (any version, 24 mo/12k mi, one-pay). Did your $5,465 one-pay amount include TTL, or what extra charges (specific $ amounts) did you have to pay for (taxes, title, license, disposition fee, etc.)? Any details would be very helpful! I’m wondering if one-pay is all-inclusive, with no extra costs. And with any extra costs, what was the total? We’re hoping to trim all the fat that dealers add (interior protection, mobile service plus, VIN etching, blah blah blah…).
The single payment of $5,465 covered the full term of the 2-year lease and was all-inclusive, covering taxes, title, and license fees.
PM’d you if you don’t mind sharing the dealer
