I’ve been lurking LH for awhile. The deals posted here have always been super helpful in terms of figuring out what’s within the realm of reason when negotiating with dealers. So, when I came across the iX deals that IAC was posting, I figured I’d reach out to a local BMW dealer to see if I could negotiate something within that stratosphere (before giving up and just reaching out to IAC). After some texting back and forth with the salesperson, I got a number I was satisfied with and pulled the trigger.
I’ve been trying to play around with the calculator to see if I can figure out exactly how the numbers were reached, but I’ve been unable to replicate the numbers. I went ahead and included a picture of the pertinent part of the contract.
@mich14
Congratulations on an excellent deal. I am in the market to lease an BMW IX as well and I shared with my local dealer the copy of the lease document you uploaded to price match. They said they don’t see the name of car and the original MSRP in the document. I will highly appreciate if you can please upload a document which shows that information. It will be extremely helpful for me to get that deal as well.
I’m having trouble locating my lease documents. The link containing them that I got from the dealership expired. At any rate, the lease programs now are vastly different than what they were in September. I would just try to work something out with @IAC. He has great deals on IXs.
Trying to understand how taxes worked on this deal. Are ‘lender tax credit’ different than the $9900 EV rebate? The calculator shows zero for tax rate. I can get a similar discount to MSRP plus rebates, but assuming will need to add state tax to payment.
Ya know, this passive aggressive post really upped my desire to find my lease paperwork lol. But honestly, it’ll do you no good. Believe it or not, the salesman can’t just conjure up a deal simply because the numbers were at one time possible with a prior month’s lease programs. I’ll bet dollars to donuts that if you were to show the salesman my contract, the salesman would immediately point out that the deal can’t be replicated since it was premised on numbers from September.
I looked at the deals posted by @IAC and others to figure out what was within the realm of possibility back in September. I then worked from there to construct my own deal.
A contract from September isn’t going to make the dealer magically price match. Guaranteed they will make an excuse as to why they won’t. You have all the numbers and info, make offers to dealers, which doesn’t include sending random strangers contracts. If they want to do the deal, they will. Put in the work like @mich14 did. There’s tons of valuable knowlege on this site, or brokers available if you don’t want to do it on your own.
What am I missing? $699/month with $2699 DAS for a non-tx deal certainly is attainable today. Why are you all saying this is not replicable? Or do you mean it’s not replicable in Texas? What existed in September from BMW that doesn’t exist today in terms of debates, residual value and money factor?
I was more focused on the need, or lack thereof, for a contract from someone else when negotiating. The dealers either going to play ball, or they won’t, and a random contract isn’t going to change that.
