I was getting ready to turn in my 24 iX 50 lease and the dealership just so happened to have one of the last 25 iX M60 loaners left in the country. This plus my wife being out of town I took as a sign and I figured I might as well take a shot at it. After a little back and forth we were able to work everything out… now I have to work everything out with my wife, lol.
Nice. Will defintely keep an eye out. Its the $1100 dealer fees and the 40 bps markup with a stingy inventory that makes it so hard to deal with FL dealers. My bad not stingy inventory, the massive influx of rich ass people moved down here that none of the BMW or MB dealers in the S. FL wanna really play.
OP got the buy rate after negotiating lower than the lowest asking price at any point. The weird thing about this dealer is that their listed prices yoyo up and down to the tune of thousands of dollars on their loaners. Really bizarre approach… CarGurus does come in handy as it often shows price drop way before their website does (if that even means anything at all if they’re open to negotiations).
The negotiating was pretty uneventful. I tossed some numbers together in the calculator and offered them $750 with 0 DAS. Took them a day but then they reached out and said they could do it. No drama at all. I asked for the MSD’s at the end and was going to put down 10 but they would only allow 7.
My guess is they saw the writing on the wall with any lease support ending soon and all of the comps out there being in the 75k range, that and the fact it had been sitting on their lot for a year and a half. They have a 25 i5 M60 there too that I made an offer on as well but they weren’t willing to play ball on that one.
Yeah, I saw the price yoyo up and down on their site while I was watching it… went up 5k last week for who knows what reason. It was listed for 89k or so when I noticed it and 94.5k at the end.
