Not the best deal but ok deal for Dec 2025 , $48K MSRP) as most incentives are gone and I missed out. This car had 1500 miles and looks and smells 100% new, absolutely no sign of it ever been driven, not sure how. (Looked at a 5,000 Lincoln Natilus Loaner and it looked super beat up). Anyways, it took me maybe over 50 hours of searching and calling over 2 months to finally find this deal as I researched cars from 16K for 36/15 all the way to 32K for 36/15 and finally got the Blazer for $8K (equivalent of $12K of it were 36/15). The actual cost is $14800 ish but there are several rebate and discounts, I used Costco, Conquest and opened a GM credit card. The rest were dealer discounts. I was in and out in 2 hours.
During my research I measured my overall cost for 3 year, 15,000 mile terms, as a single dollar amount , all in with tax title and 1st year registration. This method really helped me wrap my head around the cost of different cars and comparisons.
The most frustrating parts of my research was:
A. Sales tax included or not included when people quote prices (wish there was a federal mandatory form for this) and:
B. The industry not having a proper word for drive off vs downpayment vs OTD ($2100 difference for me). Many dealers call downpayment, OTD plus tax title reg fees.
I hope the industry gets together and comes up with a standard format. It’s about time.
-Now the good stuff!
Leasehacker was an extremely helpful website along way. I wish I had found it in October when GM had so many crazy deals. Thank you to the creators and all of you users who gave so much information here and helps people like me.
Extremely helpful calculator, has all taxes included and even creates a URL with all numbers locked in so it can be shared.
- Now the car:
Blazer EV LT (lowest trim) is a beautiful car! The paint looks premium . Silent and smooth to drive. Big fat tires and black out rims, which helps fly over potholes without even noticing them. Massive battery showing 324 miles at 93% charge (EPA rating is 312 miles at 100%). Haven’t driven it a lot but the car seems very efficient, says 3.4mi/kw but in real world does much better possibly over 4. I will soon take a road trip from Los Angeles to Vegas and will report back on efficiency (any recommendations for charging in Baker or Barstow, is greatly appreciated).
-Disappointed: The base trim for the Blazer EV LT lacks lane centering which I learned after driving off. While test driving, the dealership salesperson told me it has it even called another salesman and confirmed that I have to pay for supercruise to get lane centering but that was a lie. The car doesn’t have the hardware so I can’t even pay to get back lane centering that I’m pretty sure all other cars I was looking at do have lane centering at lowest trim. Not having lane centering is going to be a big annoyance since I use that a lot.
And no garage door opener. Really GM?
And no apps in the infotainment yet because I need to get the streaming update and dealership may not even do it for me.
And no apple carplay or android auto.
Overall I’m happy because I paid so little for the car but it’s it was any higher I would’ve moved on to other cars like the Lincoln Natilus I had ready to sign at $22,500 for 36/15
