Congrats on your deal.

$7.5k + $2k + $500 adds up to $10k. Am I missing something here? What is the additional $1k?

Loosely related for anyone who has a lawyer living in the household, the American Bar Association also offers affinity rebate. In the you learn something new every day file, I was going through the paperwork at the dealer for my XC90, the salesman I worked with noticed I said I was a lawyer. Salesman asked if I was a ABA member and said there was a 1K rebate if I wanted it. I joined the ABA for $150, got my rebate code instantly and got the $1K rebate.

You do not need to be a lawyer to join the ABA but I am not sure if non-lawyer members get the rebate.

ABA <> A-plan, but you can get a-plan if the firm you work for participates in a-plan.

That’s of course right. It’s an affinity rebate not A plan.

Dang, thats a decent deal! Thanks for sharing details.
Residual where i am is 65%

It is the same 72% on 24/10 and the same trim where you are. Volvo RV is nationwide.

Was this a DC dealer?

Dealer in Michigan

Oh sorry you are right, i mixed up my 2023 vs 2024

It seems like all the Volvo brokers communicate or they’re all just shell corporations of one guy, you just gotta be careful you don’t piss off the family. I had it happen where I hadn’t heard back from one for over a day so I reached out to another since I was under the gun to get a car. OG broker then called me shortly after saying he knew I was talking to others. He told me he moved a hundred cars a month and didn’t need my business. He then sowed doubt that the other broker could even produce the car. He even told me what dealership the broker used to make sure they had it. Was a pretty ridiculous experience, but you gotta be a shark to be in the biz I guess.

Sharky on Volvos… Go figure. This all reminds me of the Sopranos haha.

I hope people realize getting deals on these is actually easy sans crappy broker experience. The T8s all have the same price +/- a few thousand so shouldn’t be a huge spread on the monthly. Also, dealers have units in stock and some for quite a while so they’re looking to unload. Just know your incentives (Costco, a plan, loyalty), plug in a target discount (10-12%), run it with base MF and see who bites. This isn’t a needle in a haystack kind of deal. I’ve helped 3 people land one with a similar deal since posting this.

In the end of the day these are an 8+ year old design that are being pushed on here with an inflated residual and loads of cash from Volvo. They’ve aged well but for sure are not worth the 77k outside of a cheap lease.

Having a Morgan Stanley account does work. You have to have a certain amount invested with them to qualify for a Reserve login. Ask your account manager if they can hook you up.

The dealer I worked with reached out saying he wants to push a few more T8s out by EoY. He can do the same discount (~11%). Has to close deal by Dec 30th. Pre-tax calc below for a 10k lease with first month at sign. Sent a few deals already his way but only PM me for details if you’re serious. Located in SE Michigan.

Note - they WILL NOT do MSDs. Frustrating but at this price point doesn’t matter.

Doing this to return the favor to the dealer and LH community!

Too late Jimbo, programs got worse in Jan. Also…

I have a list of every customer who has given me a less than perfect survey. I also have a list of customers who cancel a deal AFTER we locate them a car.

brokers share this info. That way we don’t get burned. I don’t care which broker you use or what dealer you get your volvo from. I only care that ones who buy from me get a 10/10 experience.
