I decided to take a shot on a nicely configured unit to replace a family member’s recently turned-in BMW X3. Contacted the dealer on 12/30 by phone and spoke directly to an experienced Salesperson and then mainly a Sales Manager from there. I’m previously from the car business, and we had a couple of pleasant, brief, no-nonsense conversations in the late afternoon while they were clearly jammed up with a queue of in-house deals and phone calls. We decided to speak at closing time so we could load a proposed deal structure and land on something mutual. I verified programs using edmunds forums and a couple of deals searched here on LH. I was shooting for 18% off pre-rebate, and we got to 16%+. We agreed and drove down to the greater DMV area to spend a long NYE day taking delivery and making it back to North Jersey just in time for the ball drop, hah!
