SIGNED: 2024 Honda Prologue Touring AWD, 24/15K $1950 DAS $121/mo

, ,

I signed on this deal last week of December, but had a couple of friends recommend me to post it on here.

I got my Prologue from Maryland but I registered it in Virginia. My friend also got one in the same deal format and same day, so it was a two car deal for the dealership. I got the Touring AWD trim (mines was in Sonic Gray Pearl and my friend’s was in Raven Black).

  • $56,550 MSRP
  • $41,850 Sales Price (26% off MSRP)
  • 24 months, 15k miles/year
  • 12,500 in rebates ($7,500 EV credit, $3,500 captive lease cash, $1,000 conquest cash, $500 college)
  • Negotiated with dealer to throw in weather floor liners at no cost.

Hey is the contract posted in here? Thank you for sharing.

I’m new to this, but here’s the link to the contract.

So after looking at the contract, seeing $0 for tax/title/etc, how much was that in virginia? Another $3k?

The deal included taxes, tag, and dealer doc fee. I just didn’t attach the 2nd page of the contract but here’s the info to break it down for you:

41850.00 - agreed upon value of vehicle
1275.92 - taxes (4.15% for Virginia)
536.38 - Title, license, and registration fee (two years for VA)
595.00 - Lease acquisition fee
800.00 - Administration/doc fee

Hope this helps!

The math aint mathing.
The taxes and fees alone add up to $3207, which is $134/mo
$2918 is your total lease payments, +$400 disposition.
The effective monthly should be $272/mo

Im struggling to understand this deal as well. I’ve got an offer for 330/mo with all fees+taxes included. not the greatest but pretty good. If im only $50 off then im not too sad.

I really don’t know what to say since I have a legitimate contract and I already made my lease payment last week for $121.60. Initially, I wanted a Blazer EV but I couldn’t find any GM dealer on the East Coast to discount one aggressively.

Anyways, back to the deal - $45,057.30 is the adjusted gross capitalized cost when you take taxes and fees into consideration.

I had capitalized cost reduction of $14,450 which was $1950 in down payment and the rest was just rebates which essentially means my depreciation is $635.80 and the rent charge is $2,282.61.

$45057 is the gross cap cost after you capitalized tax, tag and fees.
$30607 is the adjusted cap cost, which is only $636 over the RV of $29971.
Based on $1950 DAS and $121/mo payment for 24mo your effective is $202.25

Nobody else has achieved a 26% discount with a $12.5K rebate stack. You do have a legit contract, but it smells like dealer error to me. Usually, this type of discount has some of the dealer cash baked in. MMR is $32K, so your adjusted cap is less then wholesale. Anything goes at the end of December, maybe they needed to make a quota target.

Congrats.

I think what contributed to me achieving the 26% was the $6,000 dealer cash available from Honda at the time

You stole that car, nice work.

What I don’t get is the title license and registration fee. I am looking at my VA ZDX contract from 14 days ago and my Title License and Registration fee is $57.75.

the $3,500 captive lease cash, $1,000 conquest cash, is that Honda driven or dealer driven? And is it state specific or nationwide?

am in the market for a similar car, trying to get the numbers correct?

I suspect they might’ve done it wrong. Registration for EV’s in VA is more expensive which is $123.98 a year. Since we’re not paying tax on fuel at stations, they’re trying to recoup their costs by making our registration more expensive. I also did two year registration so that I wouldn’t ever have to worry about it.

The $3,500 captive lease cash and the $1,000 conquest cash is nationwide so Honda driven.

At the time when I got it, the dealer lease cash was $5,000 which was given from Honda to the dealer to discount the car further. The dealer doesn’t have to pass the savings on to you and I talked to some that wouldn’t pass on the savings. Additionally, there’s region specific discounts - Honda gave an EXTRA $1,000 dealer cash to dealerships located in VA and MD.

thank you. dm you a couple of more q.
is there a way to find out what $$ are avbl based on states?

Was this a demo vehicle by chance? How many miles were on it when you bought it?

Not a demo vehicle. Had around 40 miles on it when I bought it.

OP I’d get a few quotes for fun. Who knows you could walk away with a profit and give yourself an excuse to hack another vehicle.
