SIGNED: 2024 Equinox EV 2RS Red 15k/24 $5495 one-pay + taxes

I took the advice from someone in this forum who found a previous year Cadillac by filtering on the GM website. Once I found the specific models I want (Blazer EV RS RWD and Equinox EV RS FWD) I reached out to the dealerships via their generic “contact us” forms on their websites.

There were a lot of back and forth with around 10 different dealerships about all the info they need to give me a quote. Eventually, I decided to write down all the incentives I’m eligible for and my targeted budget. I included those in the contact forms or in my first communication with them from then on.

I finally got three to four promising leads, but all but this one fell through because 1) they don’t do out of state lease (I’m in MN and all the leads from from neighboring states) or 2) they don’t do one pay lease. I had to rush and signed on 9/2 before the incentives expired and didn’t realize the quote didn’t include MN sales tax (9.88%) so it’ll eventually end up being $6500 plus $400 delivery fees. But I put the payment on a credit card with a decent sign up bonus (~10% cash back).

If I were to do it again, I would make sure I communicate my targeted budget upfront as well as all the incentives I’m eligible for right away. I now know what specific numbers to look for in the lease contract especially if taxes are already included. Becuase MN requires to pay sales taxes upfront, I assumed the dealership would have handled it. Oh well, lesson learned.

I couldn’t have done this if not for folks who shared their experiences here. And I’m super excited to get the car and will update it with a picture once it is delivered.
