Happy to be back in the leasing game after my horrific Tesla loss. Bought Model Y Performance in May 2022 for 66k. Just sold it for a whopping 36k had to pay off negative equity of 17k - no more buying for me.

What was I thinking after finding my first hack here in January 2020 Jag F-Pace for $469 a month on a 59k MSRP with first month DAS.

Sweet! Post pics. Was this a 36 month lease?

They don’t make sense at anything but 36.

42 was workable for a short time if you were rolling in negative or had high tax but that didn’t last long.

Been seeing a lot of 24s lately as well. Not necessarily for BMW, maybe more Mercedes though.

question… why did you sell the Model Y performance after like 2 years?

Thanks. Will post when I get delivery on Thursday.
Yes 36 months

I can’t keep cars more than 18 months. Get bored of them. Never planned to keep the Tesla just didn’t anticipate such a loss

Ugh, I am in the same boat! Bought a Model 3P for 55k at the height of the market after selling my previous Model S. Currently worth about 25k and I still owe about 40k (3.7% Interest). I’ve toyed with the idea of rolling it into a lease but I really don’t like that idea so my new plan is to aggressively throw extra payments at it until I can get rid of it and hop into a lease. I love the car but my kids always bop their heads getting in and out of their seats, we’d really like an SUV for more room.

Helps that I sold 2 model 3’s and pocketed 19k on those but you either keep it long term or rip that bandaid off
