Signed: 2024 BMW iX M60 | $122K MSRP | 36/10 | $1190/mo w/ tax | $2273 + $8400 MSD

I’ve never leased before, but it seems required to get a decent deal on an iX. I also think leasing is a good “insurance policy” on EVs at the moment. So, thanks to a lot of research & lurking on this forum, I signed this deal!

I wanted multiple options that are hard to find on in-stock xDrive50 like Air Suspension and B&W Sound. So I went looking for an M60. In the end I found this one which basically has every option imaginable…more car than I needed but I think (hope?) it kind of evened out by finding something I could make a deal on.

When initially looking for a car I made a rookie mistake of asking dealers what they could offer on a lease. The deals were so out of whack I spent a lot of time learning to use the calculator to reverse engineer what was going on. Finally I found this car, which I knew had been on the lot for a while, and just cold emailed the dealer with a direct offer that they took straight away: 10% off MSRP and matching the current BMW lease deal of .0005 MF and 52% residual (early on, in my naivety, I didn’t realize this was something you had to negotiate…i mean it’s posted on BMW’s website!). I was suspecting some bait & switch once I got to the dealer in person but to their credit they honored it simply and didn’t try to sell me any add-ons. They also let me apply 7 MSDs to save a little more money.

Here’s the closest I can get with the calculator. It seems tricky to match the calculator exactly with how the rebate works, but this was a great tool for comparing offers especially the Total Cost.

Potential regrets:
-I guess I could have negotiated folding the DAS into the lease but didn’t seem worth the trouble given the amount.
-Since they took my first offer I can’t help but think I should have low balled MSRP even further. Seems like 2024s are getting moved to prep for 2025s. That being said, there’s not a lot to compare in this price range, and since this fit in my budget it seemed good enough.

Overall I think I did OK, especially for my first try. Perhaps could have done better but doubt I would have gotten anywhere close without the help of this forum. So thank you!

Congrats but what made you not cross shop Mercedes or Audi?

Who cares, the DAS amount above first month is like ~2% of the total lease cost.

Wouldnt worry too much about this.

Think it’s too early for 2024s to be under much pressure to get cleared out.

Sounds like par for the course to make offers to N people, and (N-1) say no, and one accepts immediately.

Haggling after acceptance is a good way to motivate someone to seek an alternative buyer just out of spite

You did very well for yourself.

There really is no reason to ever buy one of these when you’re essentially borrowing it for only depreciation cost with the MF post MSD being 0.19%, you really can’t lose, either it’s worth more at the end and you get equity (win for you, but unlikely), it’s worth less, and you only paid the depreciation that BMW quoted with hardly any finance costs (win for you), or it’s worth what they thought and you basically borrowed it for 3 years without paying hardly any rent charge (win for you).
