Signed - 2024 Audi Q8 etron Premium Plus, $83.4k MSRP, 24m/10k, DAS $2600, $649 after tax

Thanks to everyone here who posted their solid deals and gave me good pointers - you all were a great help both answering questions on the forums and in DMs

I started off by targeting 10% off msrp, and then 16.5k in incentives. Got close to the msrp discount but 15k was the max in incentives - either way the deal worked for me. This took me about 5 days. Took some back and forth but was able to land the exact color I wanted (Plasma Blue) and with the options I needed (Black optic and P+ package).

Over this period, I found picking up the phone and calling dealers was a lot more efficient than emailing or texting the generic response point. Few times I was transferred to the “Costco” manager who was able to give me numbers over the phone, some ppl took a long while and I could sense they were junior or didnt have their managers ear as it was always a lengthy back and forth for every small question.

Anyways lot of the legwork paid off by day 4 when one aggressive dealer was willing to work with me with my assurance that " I will drop everything and drive down to sign it today" – this really helps btw. They are more eager to cut deals when they know they can move it the same day versus some imaginary future appointment

This is probably the best deal I have achieved in terms of % of msrp (leasehacker think was slightly over 10y) and am very happy with it, this is even better than what I received on my earlier Q5e during 2020. And while I had gotten a 6-mo extension on that car, I figured it would be hard to beat this deal for the exact car I wanted even if I waited until Dec and year end

Why 24 mo versus 36? Well for one, since I can always extend it by 6 mos, it becomes more of a 2.5y lease and and all-in payments seemed better w 24 mos versus 36 (62% RV)

Throwing in Audicare for the 2 services increased the monthly by 7 bucks (RV went up 1%) so that was fine - I was kinda indifferent anyways at this point

But the best thing was they did NOT markup the money factor and kept it at 0.00205. Some others were jacking it up to 0.00245 or even higher.

The car drives really well for its size (it is heavy at nearly 6000 lbs) but a really sweet ride and you get 2y of free charging at electrify america

Anyways, hope this helps others

Great job and hope my tips were helpful. Post your calculator, and photos of the car!

Thanks - your calculator was a great help. I had the basics down before I went to the dealership but didnt use the calculator while there but I knew what the numbers should have been ballpark and they matched up well

And best thing is my insurance premium (w Costco connect) actually went down by 48 bucks (for 6 mos) with this new car compared t

o what I was paying for 2020 Q5e P+ before

To everyone who sent DMs - I just logged back in this evening, will try to go thru and help best I can. Dealer was v sensitive about not disclosing deal details but I am sure they’d love more referrals (who doesn’t)

Here is a pic, just love this color esp in evening sun

Awesome! Nice car and congrats!

How do you like it so far? I’m still trying to get used to the boat-like feel compared to my SQ5 but I’m sure I’ll adjust with time :joy:

Also I have tried to put together this to the extent it helps - there was some interplay between discount on the msrp, incentives and tax on incentives - I didnt get the full 16.5k, but was happy w the numbers ultimately

Adding audicare later in finance only bumped up monthly by 7 bucks for the 2y lease

Great Job. One dealer quoted 14% markup on MF. He said that’s normal, or they will have no profit. :frowning:

I have to say man, this definitely feels more like a car type narrow and enclosed feel than the tall riding Q5 hybrid that felt more “tossable” w clearer sight lines, although i think despite 21 inch wheels somehow has a smoother ride? maybe its the lack of ambient noise

You are right, I do feel more conscious about the girth but after a couple of days, getting the hang of its turning radius etc and am able to drive a bit more confidently, lol.

The acceleration is more than adequate in sports mode. Last time I drove an etron was at the same time I bot my Q5 (2020) and it felt miserable back then which is why now i remember i went w the Q5e. This one is a lot more improved over that old version.

Yeah the initial response from everyone was atleast 0.00225 or higher. Thanks to this forum I was aware 0.00205 is the base and tried to stick w it. Some dealers balked at it (one guy literally laughed), and I dropped them right-away since I knew that attitude wont be getting me to the numbers i needed anyways.

Yeah way more body roll than my old car, and it’s slower - but I’m almost 40 and appreciate having more space and slightly leveled up degree of luxury.

Yep, this really etrons were absolutely terrible to drive. The Q8 etron is much more composed, refined, and solid. Your observation about it feeling more like a car is also spot on. Even the cabin feels more closed in than the Q5. Depends on what you like.

Congrats on your deal and thanks for sharing.

Question though, all incentives should be taxes on California, no?

Also where do you get the $16.5k in incentives? For Ca the maximum I can find is $15k with Costco.

how are you getting 15K, the max I can find is 14 (7500 Fed EV, 5000 Audi, 1500 Costco)

1500 loyalty maybe?

Regional bonus $1k can be applied what I’ve been told by dealers.

I got the list from calbearsjase originally

1k was regional incentive and 1.5k loyalty, 5k national, 7.5k EV, 1.5k costco

= 5+7.5+1.5+1.5+1 = 16.5

Sometimes if they give you a discount off msrp one of the incentives goes missing - in my case i could only get 15k total. but 3 dealers eventually offered 15k , so my sense is unlike the money factor and such - this 15k should be your baseline if you have costco

Didn’t know there was a loyalty incentive.

Edit: per edmunds, no loyalty on the q8 etron in Sep program. Not sure how someone else got it.

Edit 2: looking at your referenced deal he also didn’t get loyalty applied. So as not to spread misinformation i would err on no loyalty this month.

thanks for correcting - i knew there was a reason they didnt give me 16.5k but this below is what I was going off from the original post, but yes he got 13.5k with a bigger discount off msrp

so looks like i didnt miss anything, which is comforting. dealer did say the costco only works if youve had membership in place before the program started recently, wasnt a problem for me but i can see how that also can be an issue

==============
Incentives (up to $16,500 right now - I had $13,500 applied):

$5000 national customer cash
$7500 PHEV credit
$1000 regional EV certificate
$1500 Costco (they did not apply this - more below)
$1500 loyalty (they did not apply this - more below)

I would love to get this deal in NY or NJ.
Any help to get this would be great.
I have a cadillac xt6 and the lease is up Nov and would love to get into the electric SUV like this.

I’m told that there were private sale/rebates made available to certain Audi owners. They check your VIN to see if there are any extra incentives. YMMV
