2023 Mercedes EQS SUV 450+ loaner with 5K miles thanks to @EVKingsPlus. I was looking at various cars and really wanted the 580 but needed another car. Deal at $517/effective monthly was too good to pass up. Left some money on the table by not doing MSDs (about $50/month) but with all the issues and uncertainty, didn’t feel they were worth it.
Issues and uncertainty referred to a combination of all the people having issues with their cars and that Mercedes might keep MSDs in the event of an accident to the car (see the Mercedes EQS super thread on both of these). I wasn’t sure the car might make it 24 months lol. The savings weren’t enough to warrant putting up MSDs.
I think it’s repeatable if you can find a loaner with similar discounts and take advantage of all the incentives. Only big difference is sales tax, NJ has no sales tax on EVs so I saved a bunch there.
Take a look at the Marketplace on the site for CA deals and try to target your own deals as well.
That’s a damn good deal and color. Mine would have been $460ish/month had I done MSDs for 24/10K. March might bring more deals if dealers can’t get rid of the remaining inventory.
Yeah but that’s not the only difference. The overall point from all of us posting is that deals can be replicated even if the endpoint is achieved through a combination of different factors.
You can try and worst they can say is no. Hard part is dealers are not consistent with their loaner listings online (if they even list them at all). Check in NJ/NY/PA dealer websites. When I was looking there was a dealer in PA (I think MB Doylestown) that had EQ vehicles that had been on the lot for almost a year or more - these were new though not loaners so incentives would not be as high but they might be looking to get rid of the 2023s.
