Well, these cars don’t lease very well on cost or residual, but it was exactly what I wanted with all of the options I was looking for. Somewhat aprehensive about a 3 year commit when I know that SPA2 is coming, but the recent delay to “announced in 2022” from “launched in 2022” makes me feel a little better. After talking to ~ 15 dealers up & down the west coast, Arlene @ Culver City stole the show with a monthly cost of O(10%) less than anyone else was quoting, in similar configs. Shipping bit into the deal, but makes up for itself in < 6 months compared to anything that I could have “locally” driven to. Definitely had two separate Bay Area bait-and-switch events, which sucked and pretty much has put those dealers on my Do Not Buy list.
This is only my third lease (previous: VW e-Golf, then XC60 T8, 36m ago), and it’s certainly no steal, but after talking to @Benedetto and getting some gracious coaching (thank you!) since he doesn’t work in CA, I feel like this is a decent lease, if not one to write home about. LH calculator indicates 12.9% off.
Would love to hear what other deals other folks are seeing on this high-demand car, esp if you were picky for specific features / colors / etc.
