Had a really hard time deciding between the Pacifica Hybrid (especially with the finance deals some have found here) and leasing an Odyssey. Ultimately, the ride, handling, and feel of the Odyssey won me over - and the fact that Honda dealers in Illinois are seemingly much easier to deal with over email and text than Chrysler dealers (it’s seriously like they are still operating in 1995, at least the ones I dealt with).
As a side bonus, I’m selling my 2019 Atlas to Carvana for $1200 more than I paid for it two years ago. Crazy times.
Love the van so far - and the kids really love it!
Nice looking van. I’m in the same boat. Looking at a Pacifica but thought about changing gears towards an Odyssey, espevislly the touring trim. From all the videos I’ve watched, it seems that the Honda has better driving characteristics. How did you get the dealer to discount nearly $7k off msrp? The most I’ve seen in Michigan is around $3500.
Would like to replicate this deal for the 12k miles per year.
Also, I agree with the craziness of trade-in values. I bought a dealer owned 2017 Chrysler 300S with 8000 miles on it on 2018. Purchase price was $23,500. Drove it for 3 years now. Did a quick Carvana purchase inquiry on it with 28,000 miles currently. Came back with a buy offer of $24k and change. Fee car for 3 years, just had to pay the tax.
Sorry for the delayed response - busy morning of Zoom and Teams work calls. I used Rodo as my starting point as they had the best quote in my area (Rodo had a $4500 dealer discount, plus $1000 dealer lease incentive, and $1000 Loyalty since we have another Honda lease in the household). I live between Chicago and St. Louis so I then targeted the volume dealers in those markets. Initially, I was negotiating on a silver one with the dealer I went with, but when they went to track it down on the lot, it had front end damage. So they honored the deal on the Platinum White one which had the $400 increased MSRP, but was the only other '21 Touring they had on the lot. It also had some protection package on there (wheel locks, all weather mats, tinted front windows) but they did not try to add that cost to my deal, which I’m thankful for. Honestly, it was the smoothest lease deal I’ve done, and this was a larger chain store. As you likely know, with lease deals it’s a lot of research and a little bit of luck/timing that helps in the end.
I’m pretty nuts about research when it comes to car deals, so I’ve been scouring this forum along with the Odyssey and Pacifica forums over the last few weeks. I don’t think you can go wrong with either, but the reviews of the '21 from users and reviewers (check out the savagegeese review on YouTube which was posted in the last week - great review) helped in making my decision. Any car can have issues, but it does seem like Honda worked out most of the issues with this refresh. Anyway, I enjoy the process and this forum has been terrific over the years - hope this helps in your search/negotiating!
