Signed! 2021 Mazda CX-9 AWD Grand Touring - MSRP $45,280, 36/12, $449/mo, $449 DAS

A huge thank you to all the brokers and LH members I contacted regarding the Mazda and many other vehicles my wife “wanted” - Silver Exterior / Black Interior. This is an out of state dealer in Maryland who wanted to move inventory today…no one in NJ could get close. Vehicle will be delivered to me tomorrow and Ill post pictures.

A shoutout to @LeasyDeals and @AutoNinjas as their Mazda prices were awesome and I will definitely use in the future and I highly recommend their services as they responded to all my questions without hesitation even though I chose not to go with them.

Or better wives

I was being diplomatic.

Unfortunately in my house, there is no diplomacy, only a dictatorship by the wife.

Wait until the pandemic is over - The bar scene is going to wild - can be refreshing to have a few hall passes

I’m single and my own agent. No one to tell me what kind of car to buy

I did fight and get my BMW 4series in 2019, so I had that victory, turning it in next month, Im sad, should have extended the lease. Her Jeep lease is up next year so Ill be sedan hunting.

Was my 10.25% off MSRP on this thing good though?
I got laughed at in NJ for asking and dealers were offering 8% max off.

Not an expert on Mazda’s but seems to be a solid deal on a 3 row SUV. It’s what she wanted too so win win.

Post pics when u get it :+1:

Why do you hate CX-9? Not a fan, but my husband is insisting we check it out as the more affordable option.

I had a 2017 for a couple years. My wife, who couldn’t care less about cars, was ecstatic the day that Carvana offered us our payoff amount on it so she could get something new.

It’s a magical vehicle where there inside space is way smaller than the outside says it should be. It’s useless as a 3 row and has mediocre cargo capacity for a 2 row. It’s like an inverse Tardis.

The interior looks great when you first get it, and about 2 weeks later, all the piano black parts on the center console end up looking like they got in a fight with a piece of sandpaper, making it look like crap.

The infotainment on mine was the the crapiest system I’ve ever seen. It’d make multiple minutes to boot up (not being hyperbolic, I timed it). Had a back up camera, but you’d never know it because the system wouldn’t come to life quick enough to actually use it. This was after the dealer updated it and made it better. To be fair, Mazda did update the infotainment recently, although the reviews I’ve seen of it don’t make it sound much better.

There were some weird things going on with the transmission where it would clunk whenever you lifted your foot off the throttle. Seemed to be in the rear diff as it always came from the back. Dealer said it was fine.

Paint would chip if you looked at it wrong. Had some body panels crack along crease lines for no apparent reason.

I dont hate it as much as @mllcb42 and his wife did in their older CX-9.

I test drove the 2021 and honestly it does a good job with driver engagement and comfort, was peppy enough to be semi sporty for a big SUV without feeling like a big SUV. The AWD does a great job holding the road, the third row is small but ok for kids. Like the 2nd row captains chairs but wife opted for bench seat. With the 3rd row folded down there is more than enough storage room. I dont mind the non touch scree infotainment, its a big screen, fast and responsive. The backup camera, front view cameras are really good clear quality.

It does have a semi premium feel in the Signature trim and we got the Grand Touring trim and its comfortable enough.

I will have to give a review after having it for a few weeks. Posting pictures later!

I hope it keeps you happy and they’ve improved on the issues we had. We loved it at first too.
