It’s not quite a 1% deal with the tax included. But I really needed a car right away as work is starting back up and I need to travel 3 days a week since we moved farther away from work during the pandemic. Looked at a lot of different cars that were MSRP or above with very little room for negotiation. Then happened upon this. Only 15 cars in Limited trim in a 500-mile radius and most with undesirable color combinations. Found via one of the car search websites for a much higher selling price and reached out to the dealer and did most of the negotiations over phone and email as I was quite far away from them. Everything was straightforward with the dealer so kudos to them for not pulling anything shady. While I was there to pick up the car, someone showed up looking for that exact model. So looks like I moved on the car at the right time. Not sure how replicable this deal is since this was the only limited at this dealer and they said they don’t have any allocations for limiteds for the next 6 months plus. Not sure if I lucked out with the discount here. The car was super dirty but only had 5 miles on it. Most other dealers in 500 mile radius had less than half the the discount off MSRP and were relying on the $2500 purchase rebates from Hyundai to make it seem like a good deal. All in all, I’m happy with the tech and features of the car.

On the drive back home, the trip meter showed 41mpg over 80 miles of highway and backroads driving at 65mph. I used the Highway Drive Assist and the car pretty much drove itself. Auto lane-centering was spot on. No bouncing around. Can’t complain!
