Can’t say enough good things about Paul. He was incredibly professional, helpful, and I am beyond surprised that he wasn’t annoyed by my constant texting and questioning. Not only did he find the car with the exact packages I was looking for, he also struck a great deal for me. As if that wasn’t enough, he also found a great deal for me to sell my previous lease.
Paul was able to find a dealer that offered $30,000 for the car. I was able to take the extra $2,000 from the Lexus and roll that into the Drive off Amount for the Audi.!
Nice deal! How do you guys live with 7500 miles / year? Do you know you’re gonna dump it before the end of the lease and never see it thru? I see all these great deals by having the very low mileage which ups the residual and creates a lower lease payment, but I just don’t understand how it’s practical. Fill me in / educate me. I almost feel like if you’re driving 7500 miles or less a year you should just get something cheap anyway …you’re barely driving. I guess cheap is relative.
I obviously can’t speak for others but I live in DC so I don’t need a car. The wife and I like to go out of the city on weekends so thats all we really need the car for. I don’t really drive more than 7k a year so a low mileage lease is ideal. And since its essentially a weekend car, I didn’t want to necessarily get something “cheap” but instead wanted something a bit more fun. I completely agree with you though that if I were using the car for a commute then a “cheap” daily driver would be ideal.
Because people have different life situations that make it possible. I used to drive maybe 6000 miles a year when I worked 3 miles away and my wife has 9000 miles on her lease after 2 years.
Well prolly start seeing more 5-7.5k miles deals with work from home becoming so mainstream. Ever since the pandemic I drive maybe 5 miles a day for gym/food and some local weekending.
Clean car! Decent discount for where you’re at in the sale cycle. Could’ve saved $50/month by waiting until end of year (but not everybody is in a position to wait, so nature of the beast). I do feel that MF is garbage, but not always anything you can do about it, assuming it is a buy rate. I think you did well. No unicorn, as you said, but you kept it reasonable! Enjoy the car!
I’m always confused when people say “why would you pay that much when you’re going to only drive a a few thousand miles or why would you pay that much when you drive a zillion miles a year???”
I always think to myself, “b!tch, I love having that car in my driveway to look at if I’m only driving a few miles a year not to mention the fact that I’m going to enjoy every single one of those miles.” Or “b!tch, I’m driving a zillion miles a year so damn right I want something beautiful, comfortable and fun since I’m spending all that time in it.”
Love the car, my 2018 is due back on June not sure what to get next yet…
I’ll say you could have done better on the deal with MSDs but enjoy the car. Edit: didn’t notice you had an early lease turn in… that definitely hurts
I’m paying about the same at 15k miles… I’ll be turning it in about 5k short due to Covid. I had a personal connection to the manager so was able to score a ridiculous deal.
Enjoy the car probably one of the most fun cars I have ever had.
Paul did a lease deal for me (Audi SQ5) start to finish in less than 6 days last week - excellent job (i am a tough customer), professional throughout, delivered on time, and was able to meet every request. To be fair, I had done all the research prior to, knew who had the car and what it was going for, and everything re options and pricing. Highly recommended and I will return to him.
I’ve got a 3rd car (Jeep Wrangler) I leased last year and still got the 12k miles per year because it was only like $10 per month more. Having it a year I’ve only done 5k miles but I’d still do the 12k lease if I had to do it over again because it’s a cheap cushion in case I need to use it more at some point. If given the option for even less miles for less money I’d still be skeptical.
Reverse is my wife’s car we leased last month we did 12k miles but she drove closer to 18k pre-covid. We went for the lower mileage since she’s not driving until they reopen mid-year and figure its worth the risk. We can always switch between cars though since my daily isn’t a lease.
Beautiful car! I’m in the market for the same: S5 P+. 10% off is insane- thanks for posting some real world success on MSRP off.
Question; your residual says 58%. Shouldn’t that be much higher on a 36/7.5K? Like 60+%? I’m looking at a 36/12K and residual according to Edmonds is 60%.
i don’t have the exacts - but it was 10% off, one month free, no disposition ~ $670 per month, $400 drive off. It’s Prem Plus, Black Optic, Nappa, 3/36 10K
