I spent a lot of time on the site over the last few months so I thought I would share even though I didn’t end up with a traditionally good lease. The residuals are low on this car but I think there’s a good chance I would buy this car at the end so I’m not worried about it. Incentives we’re good. Thanks everyone who contributes here…very useful tool for people looking to maximize their dollars.
I was offered close to the same deal you had for a 2020 Denali … I walked away and went with a Volvo XC90 … it was the education I got from Leasehackr and all it’s members that helped with my final decision
Why a 2020? Just curious as there are literally hundreds of 2019’s left within 200 miles of NY that you could have possibly gotten a significantly better deal on with a combination of deeper discount and incentives.
Are you sure the residual, etc is correct in your calculations? The 36/15k numbers are 51% and .00102, I’d be surprised if 39/12k would lose a full 2% vs a 15k lease.
I totally agree that there is a great education here but I also realized something else about myself, because it came down to the XC90 and Acadia for us too, which is that at the end of the day I’m less concerned with getting the absolute best deal and more concerned with getting the vehicle that I favor most. As beautiful as the XC90 is there were a few things about it that pushed us towards the Acadia despite the lease not being as great a value. Enjoy the car…the volvo is truly the best looking car on the road right now imho.
I chose the 2020 for a few reasons. I personally find the refreshed fascia a big upgrade over the old appearance. Also, in the '20’s they have a new buttery 9-speed transmission not available on the '19s which i think makes a big difference. The $5,250 manufacturers incentives I got were a big inducement…for a brand new car that seemed worth it.
I am positive that my calculations are what my lease is based on. It is October now and my terms were September…these things change monthly so that might explain the discrepancy.
I had 3 GMC Acadia Denali’s over the last 9 years and I loved them all. I can tell you that the Denali has more pick up then the Volvo, I loved the separate seating in the rear of the Denali vs a bench seat which is in the Volvo … and the Denali drove great on the beach which we often do… Not sure how the Volvo will do here yet… I did not like the yearly fee for Onstar and remote start and wasn’t a huge fan of the driver and passenger seating in terms of comfort with the Acadia. Overall, it’s a wash and really two great automobiles … Enjoy you Acadia and we will see what the next Acadia’s will bring which should have a redesign in the next year or so …
