SIGNED: 2020 Audi A3 Premium

Hey Guys- I know many of you are wondering what in the world I am doing getting another car but this was an early trade from the 2018 Audi R8 V10+ to a 2020 Audi A3. The story is this: I had 4 remaining payments at $1375 plus another $4,000 at $1/mile over plus insurance which all equated to a little over $10,000 in obligation for the next 4 months to the R8- I instead got a complete wash out of my R8- traded it in for its actual value of $140K with 12K miles for the following deal.

2020 Audi A3 Premium:
MSRP: $36,180
Selling Price:$26,036
Monthly Payment: $399 with tax
Drive-Off Amount: $150
Months:36
Annual Mileage:7,500
MF:.00026
Residual:46
Incentives: $2,250 included in selling price as a taxed incentive though
Region:No.Cal
Leasehackr Score: 8.4

Can anyone tell me why the deal doesn’t present a higher LeaseHacker Score?

It obviously doesn’t take me getting out of the R8 free and clear with no obligation but I am a little confused. Could I have done better?

Omar

I believe the score is low due to the very low residual. 46% for a 36 month/7,500 mile lease is very low compared to most other vehicles.

LH scores the payment against the MSRP, right? So it only matters to the extent you care about MSRP, which should be little to none.

If it matters, imagine the MSRP is $50k. Voila, instant higher LH score.

Thanks Max! I was a bit confused for a moment there. You are correct, I don’t care about MSRP, only the % of discount off MSRP.

Is anyone aware of more than a 27% discount on this car?

Few A3 data points on the forum but that sounds unheard of in current market conditions which are a sellers’ market.

Maybe they intend to make it up on future profit of the trade.

All in all, you came out ahead and no longer have the risk/cost of the R8. Good job.

I’m curious what the A3 will be used for since you have an M8 and a Lambo

Valid point Max- I just needed to get out of the R8. Giving the A3 to my parents who will rarely drive.

@jananth1 Jeremy- the A3 is my car to stunt! Come on man!

I’m just playing. My parents don’t have a car so I wanted to get them something; unfortunately for my moral compass it feels a bit self serving bc it was an opportunity to get rid of the R8 once and for all.

albeit said, I could have gotten them a Honda right, so hopefully im not too shitty of a son.

Sounds like a win for everyone involved haha

Not sure- we will see when they receive the R8. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Your dealer fees look a bit high, did this include Audi Care?

This did include Audicare for $899, yes

You didn’t like the R8?

It’s certainly no A3

This seems like a GREAT deal.

Was this a pull ahead program or merely offering a high trade in value? If the latter, I guess you could’ve gotten the Honda for cheaper!?

Loved the R8, I got a 2020 Lambo and 2020 M8. Keeping the R8 passed its time is a little overkill.
