Signed 2019 Mercedes Benz E-300 $1345 Down, $506/Month (Pre Tax)

Thank you so much! I chose not to add the maintenance plan because it would have made my payment $599/month. I hope I don’t regret it :grimacing:. I’m a saver so I think I should be okay when the time comes to service it. The dealership said an E-Class cost about a thousand dollars a year to service. . .Im hoping to take it to an independent shop when the time comes.

Thank you :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:!!

It’s a solid deal on a gorgeous car. You could have done a bit better, but overall you did well.

I think you’ll do even better next time. You seem to be able to accept insightful critique well for someone who says Donttellmewhattodo.

Haha thank you! Yes, I am definitely here to learn. I make that my username on everything just to be petty with my husband lol. Thank you again!

It’s a lease. You can sit on the hood and have a full picnic if you want.

I imagine they told you that right before saying what a steal of a deal it would be to buy the prepaid maintenance package for $2499… a savings of over $500!

Realistically, on a 3 year lease, the maintenance isn’t much more than a few glorified oil changes.

I fall somewhere between “full picnic” and those d1ld0s who post here about paying hundreds of dollars for ceramic coating on their rented Oldsmobuick.

Exactly! Yes, they definitely did try and sell the maintenance plan as a great deal. I’ve leased once before and like you said, I didn’t do much besides oil changes. I am happy I opted out. . .My grandpa said those plans are for old people who enjoy the peace of mind lol. I remember the salesman talking about how high the hourly rate for labor is for Benz  I’m not too proud to take it straight to Grease Monkey. . .or maybe just an independent shop lol.

Maintenance plans by MB are pretty reasonable when added to the RV and without markup. For next time…

Hm, how would I know if the maintenance plan is marked up? Just thinking back to my options, adding the plan would have cost $60 more a month, so $2,160 for the duration of the lease. Do you think this may have been a good addition?

When I did mine, plans were on the Mbusa website, part of the “build your car” configurator with MSRP listed for the plan.

It was almost a wash for me vs going to the Indy. Add to the fact that I got some work done and the catering was excellent by dealer standards

Your dealer wanted to way overcharge you. They should have been happy with the profit they make at MSRP on the plans.

Ah, I didn’t even think to use the build configuration feature on the website. That’s very smart, I’m going to remember that for next time. Yes, I thought the maintenance plan was over priced as well, but I was unsure of what is normal for a new Mercedes since I this is my first one. What’s crazy is they even offered me this package that would have inflated my monthly costs to $899/month. I cannot believe that anyone would want to opt into such a thing.

Greetings,

I updated my calculator and uploaded a copy of my lease agreement. The payment is $10 higher than I initially thought. Do you think you could look it over and tell me your thoughts?

Thanks again!

Hello!

I was able to upload my lease agreement and update my calculator a bit. Could you provide feedback on the lease agreement?

Thank you

It’s added to the MSRP, so it gets residualized in the lease cost.

I got it pretty close here.

Hm, I understand. Do you think then it is often worth it to add the maintenance plan on a three year lease? I downloaded the prepaid plan brochure to see the recommended maintenance for all models within three years and I just cannot bring myself to believe the top tier plan is justified

I feel like you just did some magic lol. I noticed that in my calculator that I put $2,000 down in the money down field and placed the first months payment that MB covered under untaxed incentives. Where did you put those funds in your calculator? Thank you for taking the time to do this!

You should read through the down payment section in the calculator faq again.
