I worked with 3 different dealers and 2 of them came to similar numbers while one was completely out to lunch ($500+ per month).
My deal was just over 9% off MSRP, I was pushing for a little more but they wouldn’t budge any further. I feel like 8-10% should be pretty easily achievable, maybe a bit more if they are really motivated.
Mazda doesn’t seem to offer much in the way of rebates/incentives, but I was also helped a little by the Loyalty Rebate.
I believe people are confusing “good cars” with “reliable toasters on wheels.” Clearly something Toyota and Honda is doing is working, but it certainly isn’t creating vehicles that inspire emotions.
I’m wondering what goes into calculating these scores. I can’t be the only one to think it’s odd that rebadged versions of the same cars are so far apart on the list (ie Acura and Honda).
Acura had different (and problematic) transmissions in many cases, which account for a large portion of the difference AFAIK.
Sometimes it’s infotainment and ergonomics. I know some people will say that shouldn’t matter but it could mean time in the shop or additional time of eyes off the road which becomes a safety matter too.
My car came from Napleton Countryside Mazda in Countryside IL. I worked with Steve Napleton and he was very straight forward throughout the entire process.
Unfortunately I don’t remember which dealer was advertising the deal on on the GT that I mentioned above. But it is also a new month, so who knows what the lease programs look like now…
