I just helped a friend close on a Wrangler that was out of state. It was my first time doing a deal with a dealer where the car had to be shipped. Last week they said it would be done via Docusign. Then on Friday, told her a hard signature was required and Fedex’d some docs to her. She got them on Saturday and sent them back immediately. Tuesday the dealer got the papers back and said they would contact the shipper. It’s Friday and the Jeep is still sitting on their lot. Am I being unreasonable by calling and seeing what’s going on or is this a normal timeframe?
What state to what state? Is the dealer covering the shipping cost ? if yes, then yeah its normal for them to take a whole week.
Location of dealer has to do a lot as well if they are not close to a common trucking route.
GA to PA and no they charged her $799 for shipping. He said he could do it for cheaper but the more expensive service guaranteed it being quicker.
Check with dealer and see how it is. Usually dealers submit paperwork and confirm all is good before they ship out an out of state vehicle. So if they got the papers on Tuesday, probably got done by Thursday or today and will now arrange shipping.
