Trying to remember which member here was importing these
My buddy uses one of these to get his wares to the farmers market. It’s awesome and they used to be dirt cheap before everyone else caught on. The only downside is it’s hard to find anything else as unsafe on the road. There are no airbags and you basically are the crumple zone.
That was @Qbrozen
Guy in upstate sells them, My buddy has three of them. He has a plow hooked up to one, the other has a scissor lift…most recent one he bought has a dump bed. For the price and what you can with them he bought three for less than a side by side that can only do dumping and plowing.
I haven’t actually brought any PICKUPS in. Seems to be more competition in those. Plus, you gotta pay 25% import tax. Granted, that isn’t much at these pricepoints.
sold this the other day. And have another one I’m finishing up. These 4x4 Mitsus are little beasts. And I have a Suzuki Wagon R I’m keeping. It is going to be stored at our vacation home so we have something to get around in while there. I’ve been driving it near daily in NJ, though, and I love it. Just so damned perfect for tooling around town. And, as crazy as it seems, it gets the most attention of anything I’ve ever owned.
Not mine but looks just like this:
I have been chasing the vw conversions for awhile. They get snatched up or price insane once they arrive.
Where does one go about looking into purchasing these old pickup trucks. Enough power to attach a snow plow to one?
google for JDM imports. There are several dealers/companies you can work with. Depends where you live. Enough power? Depends how much snow. MAYBE 6 inches, if not pushing it far.
Thank you! looking for the northeast on days with some mild snow and some light yardwork!
You’d have to ship, but these guys are fairly reasonable. https://www.duncanimports.com/wholesale-used-inventory/index.htm?bodyStyle=Mini-Truck&sortBy=internetPrice%20asc
I’d likely be cheaper, but it would take about 3-4 months and be sight unseen. Easier to work with someone who has them ready to go.
I think that first one is perfect. 25k miles, 4-speed, 4x4 for $7200.
Those tires are hilarious
There is also the EV ones, which are basically Golf Carts with a power bed
But once you pay shipping, fees, duties, and taxes, you might as well buy a base Maverick.
Well in CA there is no such thing as a Maverick at MSRP…yet
That they are.
i replaced them on my Wagon R with 215/60R14. Very slight rubbing, but at least I can get it up to highway speeds now!
The Asian commercial workbox. The interior volume on those are absolutely insane, but I assume some safety features were ummm ignored.
The pickups are great seeing how crazy the used small truck market is. Folks with 30 year old pickups asking more then 10k or ATVs asking for a nice chunk of change off the lot will do such such things.
My buddies plow truck has trax on it. It can handle quite a of snow in low gear.
Out of curiosity do you have a connection you order through? I was looking at some of the importers too acquire one of these vans and also a 95 GTR
