Rumor: US EV credit to increase to $10,000

No, I would prefer nothing happen without consensus.

People seem to understand the beauty of our system, it was meant to prevent a simple majority of say 51% from ruling over the other 49%. That is unstable. It is why the filibuster killing talk was so damaging and why neither party should do away with it.

Things happen in Washington when there is broad consensus, they pass plenty of bi-partisan legislation every year. When things like a reconciliation bill are being used as a tool to bypass the norms of our institutions and push thru policy (forget about what it is actually supposed to be used for, which is the budget), that is unstable, and it shouldn’t happen.

I think it’s a good thing that not much can pass in Washington without 60 votes in the senate, it means that nothing happens without broader consensus. Grid lock means the system is working. If enough people in America truly wanted something, they would have the consensus to pass it.

No, I am giving you bullet points. His reports detail each item. Some of it is from bills, some of it is bureaucratic waste, but at the end of the day, the funding for these agencies to waste comes from Congress.

But if those bills had “consensus” then it’s not waste. No?

I don’t think wasteful spending should be the pre-cursor to passing a bill with broad consensus.

Infrastructure bill passed. Build back better act didn’t get voted on. Sounds like they’re claiming they’ll vote on that by the week of the 15th

For those who don’t follow these things, keep in mind it now needs to pass the Senate, and come back to the House before it goes to the President’s desk.

I would like a version of slow mode for Discourse that implements Parliamentary procedure.

I believe Infra bill will go right to Biden to be signed into law.

I thought that the infrastructure bill already had and only had to go to the president now?

Not to be confused with the bbb act that had to bounce back and forth still.

Infrastructure bill is done, just needs Biden to sign it. It has nothing to do with EV tax credits. That’s the bbb bill

The bipartisan infra bill is the only one they’ll get passed and it has nothing w the EV credits. This one was actually useful and is a big win. It had bipartisan support in the house and senate. The socialism bill will not pass. They’ll keep bickering about it, but ultimately, manchin will kill it.

“On the question of whether the offending post should be moved to the landfill, the vote among the trusted hackers is 11 for and two against. The motion is passed.”

I want to know who these two are.
