The answer is no. It’s a re-labeled A-Plan offer like the Costco, Sam’s, and TrueCar offers were plus the $1,000 bonus and $150 credit. Note that the customer must buy/lease by Jan 2nd- so no time to order a car.
When a customer purchases or leases a car through A-Plan, the dealer has to validate the VIN on the Affinity (A-Plan) website. I’m willing to bet that a demo/loaner will not validate as eligible.
CUSTOMER ELIGIBILITY:
Rue La La members or Trunk Club customers only, customer must have been a member or customer prior to November 1st, 2018.
Only customers who provide the Volvo PIN number (ex. D123456) acquired through the invite-only Volvo X Rue La La offer page or from the Trunk Club offer page.
Customer must acquire a Volvo PIN from Rue La La or Trunk Club by November 22, 2018
Customer must purchase or lease a new Volvo by January 2nd, 2019.
Only one (1) Volvo PIN allowed per vehicle. Limit two (2) Volvo PINs per membership for members in the same household.
RETAILER RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Volvo Retailer must login to the A-Plan website, go to Affinity Tools and use PIN Look-Up to ensure the customer’s information matches the information attached to the Volvo PIN - The Volvo Retailer must “Validate” the Volvo PIN in Affinity Tools (A-Plan website).
The vehicle MUST be sold at the Affinity (A-Plan) price in order to eligible for the Affinity bonus.
Failure to sell the unit at the prescribed Affinity (A-Plan) price and/or failure to “Validate” the Volvo PIN in Affinity Tools and/or failure to upload the proper required supporting documentation WILL result in a chargeback or denial of the Affinity Bonus.
Retailers cannot use information or documents provided by a 3rd party broker or buying service as the source of verification and validation. Retailers must verify directly with the customer.
Failure to validate and/or when the information does not match will result in chargeback.
blah! I was thinking (hoping!) it was just connected to an email address and therefore hard to tie to a specific individual. Have a few sisters who like to shop . . .
@Dfworders - 2020202020 isn’t a PIN, just digits to create a minimum 20 character post.
The Rue La La PIN is only sent by them to a member who spends a lot of money with them. Like Ursus, for example, who buys a lot of suits with short pants and a bow tie.
This offer is not much help, really. If they enforce invoice sale price to get this $1,000 then you can easily beat it by getting at least 8% off MSRP. And 9-9.5% is very doable.
Hmm-- obviously you’re aware of this, but you’d be purchasing a rental car. Renting a Volvo from Avis was actually what spurred us to buy one, but I wouldn’t want buy that one. I didn’t abuse it, but let’s just say I got too close to a couple of curbs and pushed the engine a lil bit
