Yeah I counted a few and got numbers and all
Only for salesman to say they don’t do out of state when they asked for address

fun fact CSI on out of state AVERAGES almost 3 points lower.
So strange- just chatted with a San Francisco Audi dealer re: an E-Tron GT, and they say they cannot lease out of state due to the bank requirements. Any idea if this is true or if there are ways around this?
Open California LLC lol
Is anything Legal? We live in USA.
It’s possible but you can’t open LLC and sign for a car next day. You need to be open for a good amount of time.
I have my LLC and if dealer being dumb, I can open a foreign LLC office in their home state and still use my original credentials. I have leases approved in 6 states all from using my home state in NC
Depends on your home state and some other specific factors, but probably not - what’s your risk tolerance?! ha. Do you plan to switch registration to your home state within 30 days? Do you have an actual business use for a vehicle in CA? Will you be paying sales tax in home state? Paying use tax in home state? Plan on telling your insurance company the truth? The lender? Taking advantage of tax incentives in non-home state through LLC created solely for car purchase? These things go from gray area to illegal pretty quickly…
Yeah, thats what I figured.
As much as I like the car, financial fraud doesn’t really suit me. I am just trying to figure out with a little extra effort if the dealer will lease it to me in WA.
Easy on the LLC advice tiger… or you might have to delete your account again.
This is just a made up way of saying they don’t want to do out of state deals without saying it’s just their policy so you won’t argue it with them. Audi dealers can lease to out-of-state customers.
Thats what I figured. Any ideas on ways to convince them to make me the exception?
No, just move on.
It’s not even that great of a deal not sure why everyone is still all over this
Just cause the sticker is 161 doesn’t mean it’s worth that haha.
It’s what people are willing to spend for it. Consensus it’s worth about a grand a month
I bet they’ll make an exception if you agree to a non-LHr deal.
In my case I get plates and switch to my home state right away. NC only charges $200 flat rate for out of state registration and no additional taxes due.
Wrangler has $14,500 in rebates in Oregon but NC has $4000?. Worth for me to pay $500 or so registrations fees extra. My insurance is aware and usually ask for final registration proof to keep my insurance and registration in sync (usually 90 day window) till they get upset
Always many loopholes but also equal amount of risks too. As many say, don’t always listen to internet posters. I live in a completely different state and over 15 years in business.
No. It’s really not worth with Cali dealers unless you make a strong case. They always have someone locally to pay a lot more than us LH. I feel most of the deals usually are on east coast and I haven’t seen any dealer refuse out of state deals.
I know during covid a lot of them stopped doing it but quickly realized they probably can push more cars out by doing out of state deals.
The tax implications are the bigger concern. Let’s say hypothetically you bought a car under a NJ LLC to take advantage of the NJ ev tax discount, all while living in NC. So you never pay the 3% use tax charged by NC despite primarily using the car in NC. Compare those facts to the legal elements for tax evasion and fraud.
Many people get away with registering in, say, Montana for same reason, but those who have been charged/penalized have not done well. I think there is one case in Louisiana where someone won a lawsuit on some pretty unique facts when they challenged an IRS penalty for the “Montana scheme”, but otherwise the track record for those who have been charged/penalized is not great. Just an fyi for anyone thinking about using an LLC to avoid taxes…do your research before taking that leap. And don’t post online about it if you do it. Some LHer out there is going to see whistleblower dollar signs. Ha kidding - I think…
This RS is under my name and my dads personal name (he’s NJ resident)
No issues with it. Since it’s one pay, it won’t report on credit as open lease. Only if they are long term leases I do LLC
I did not mean for it to sound like I was accusing you of anything. I looked into the Montana option once upon a time. Just thought I’d share what I read on the topic.
I think LLC Montana is only good if it’s a legit business you can back it up better vs hey, I have a shell company only lol
