Residual value going up on a 2025 GLS450?

Is it possible for the residual to go from 59% to 62% in one month on a last year model vehicle (same lease terms)? I received the residual last month from Edmunds and it increased 3% this month. Edmunds stated that it is rare, but possible.

Any input?

Yes of course it’s possible, tweaking the RV is just one of the levers the bank can pull to make a lease program more (or less) attractive on any given car.

So if MBFS wants to incentivize the lease on 2025 GLS’s increasing the RV is one way to do that.

Possible, but are you sure you are comparing tj sake miles, 10k vs 15k?

Yes, same lease terms. My posts are below.

Can I receive the MF and residual as well as any dealer/manufacturer/loyalty incentives being offered for December?

Thank you very much.

Looking in RateFindr it shows the RV as the same 59% for 15k. 62% is the RV for 10k.

And it looks like they gave you the 10k RV for the GLS580 as well, RateFindr shows 56%.

The guys at Edmunds are usually correct but getting hundreds of requests per day they can get the terms mixed up from time to time.

i’ve always wondered about the edmunds folks. are they in a smoky room with a couple of laptops and green visors?

It’s frustrating for sure. I am now gun-shy to reach out to dealers, with uncertainty about the MF and residuals.

I think that’s more of a muscle memory thing for the moderators at Edmund’s where 90%+ requests are for 10k miles. MBFS numbers MF / RV as far as I know are the same across the country so you could search other requests for the same vehicle & see what the result was.

You can always sign up for a month here and become a super supporter to pull the numbers yourself which is automated and not subject to a person.

While RV’s can & are tweaked by the lessor, statistically it isn’t likely a German brand increased the RV on a model by 3% percentage points to incentivize sales. They have other ways to do it that are most likely going to make more sense than an increase to RV.

One word: RateFindr

Dealers will not have problem with giving you the RV. MF is a different story.
