Negotiated a deal on a Lexus RC 350 F Sport. Solid deal, I’ll post up the details when the cars in my possession.
Dealer fees and other drive offs with first month come to $2250. This irritates me beyond comprehension. I don’t care about paying ‘drive offs’ up front as long their not B.S. drive offs.
I guess I’m looking these 2 BIG fees:
Doc fee
Acquisition fee
Then there’s bunch of little fees…
Registration fee
License fee
Sales/Use
My understanding is the acquisition fee is the Lease company, Toyota/Lexus financial fee. Another Lexus dealer in Florida doesn’t charge any ‘dealer fees’. I’ve yet to hear back from them, I want to make sure they’re not rolling it in elsewhere.
This is all because the reneg’d on their offer by 1% and wont pay their normal ‘finders/referal fee’ on the deal.
its like a seesaw, the dealers that won’t charge you a dealer fee will make it up elsewhere and the dealers that charge it make you think that you’re getting a better payment when in reality they’ll just charge you a big fee upfront.
Not charging a “dealer fee” is usually a marketing gimmick.
FL has among the highest dealer fees in the country.
I found it best to have them price it into the payment and not pay it upfront. You don’t care how they pay for it in the payment, if they have to take an additional discount to offset the fee, that’s their problem.
The simplest way to look at doc fees is just to add them to the price of the car. You can roll them in so what difference does it make. If a dealer charges 300 more for a car but has a doc fee of 300 less it’s all the same.
