Ready to leave 2019 Model 3 - ZDX tempting. Worth looking at the iX or Q4/Q6? Any others?

Hoping for a general ‘what car should I get’ as much as a ‘should I push on this lease special’:

Currently driving a 2019 stealth performance Model 3. It was the best option when I had to buy it (Accord was totaled) and has been fine but I have always hated the lack of CarPlay, poor visibility with huge A pillar, lack of blindspot and rear cross traffic (now better with software fix). Purchased for about 50k and likely would get maybe 20k now so cost of ownership is about $415/m.

Some posts here had me excited for the Acura ZDX. It checks off all boxes for me. Test drove yesterday and while I don’t love some of the exterior styling, the only thing that really threw me was the pedestrian alert noise that was just SO loud inside the cabin. I thought it was a distant train whistle. Also annoying that it stays til 22mph as my commute is all local and thus will hear it 99% of the time.

Lease deals do seem great though and a 36 month/7,500 mile lease would be a nice bridge until newer models arrive and the whole landscape of EVs gets sorted out better than it is now.

I saw a nice deal here for $425/m on the AWD a-spec which, with MA tax, gets a 3 year cost of $16,166. My local dealer has a ‘special’ with 5k down and 229/m for total cost of $17,642. Not terrible.

Figured I would ask here if any iX or Q4/Q6 would even come close to this and thus worthy of a test drive or if you think the ZDX is a current goldilocks lease and a nice bridge as I get tired of the current car and looking to move towards leasing in the future.

Hope that was enough info. Thanks!

Q4 has come close on occasion but not IX or Q6. You can always check Marketplace for MA to see pricing

  1. The best ZDX payment is at 24 months IIRC.

  2. The BEV landscape being sorted is most likely going to mean lower production and a supply/demand situation very different to today. Consequently expect higher payments due to lower incentives. Whatever you choose now is up to you but don’t expect a better deal next time.

Depends on trim

Thanks.

It’s more that I’m not sure any of the current BEVs appeal to me enough to pay ‘full price’.

I was really looking forward to the i3 but that seems to now be delayed.

Not necessarily looking for a hackable BEV in 3 years but figured would take advantage of the most hackable one now that solves all of my frustrations with the model 3. The Acura actually seems to do that (if I can get over how loud the pedestrian alert is from inside the car).

Best term/miles for the S Type? I’m in NC.
