Ram TRX spin off - ordering, configs, flips, etc

I must have missed something in part 1…How are trx’s getting instant equity? Obviously the 4xe gets the $7500 tax rebate, so I see can see on that vehicle.

Long story short, stellantis can’t keep up with demand on vehicles right now, so they’re basically only building customer orders and nothing is going to dealer inventory. As such, dealers are paying a pretty penny for used vehicles since it’s the only way they can get any to sell.

When I get mine, I’ll report back, but other who have dealt with Chapman have gotten the original quoted price even if MSRP increased. If that ain’t price protection, I don’t know what is.

Idk Tom wrote on the trx forums that stellantis is not reimbursing them so prob not gonna honor pricing

From what I have read, the issue isn’t on their end, it is on Stellantis. Stellantis is not honoring the price protection, and it seems to be just L2 trucks.

Not sure what level it is but they basically made it clear that they wont cover the difference and neither is stellantis that leaves us only with you… Did your guy possibly have a build sheet or WS before the announced increase?

The argument is that Chapman isn’t price protecting yet the others are. I’m saying, based on the back and forth in that Ram forum, all of these dealers are in the same boat. All orders that have received a POC are technically “price protected,” yet Stellantis is not honoring it, at least in the case of the L2 price increase. I’ve yet to see proof stating otherwise, so I don’t see how anyone can state these other dealers are doing something that Chapman is not.

As for pricing, my local dealer recently sold two TRXs. Sale prices per the salesman were ~$99k for the '21 and around $108k for the '22.

These were both used?

I suppose it’s possible that other dealers are just taking a bigger hit on the sales price if Stellantis won’t honor the price, effectively price protecting.

Yes, both used. He said they haven’t seen any new ones come in.

Possibly, although I’d be very surprised they’d be willing to eat another $2k on something they are already selling way below market value.

Might be why you’re seeing bigger advertised discounts from Chapman, but them coming right out and saying “no price protection”.

That’s what they did on their 392 orders as well.

I think it’s also a CYA sort of thing. They aren’t saying they won’t price protect if Stellantis honors it, just that if Stellantis won’t, they won’t be stuck holding the bag.

I agree. And why I think the poster above claiming these other dealers are protecting and Chapman isn’t is BS.

Might be that Chapman is the only one coming out ahead of time and giving a forewarning and the others are just dealing with it as it comes.

Gupton has never passed along a price increase after I had a POC.

Did you have a TRX order through Gupton where stellantis wouldn’t honor the sold order price and Gupton absorbed the delta?

This my first TRX order. But I was never effected with the 4XE price increases. So I am assuming it’s business as usual. I can always ask them.

Chapman has been pretty specific about the sold order protection issues being fairly unique to the trx as far as stellantis not honoring. I don’t think anyone has had issues with the 4xe

I ordered another 4xe from Chapman on Monday and this was on the bottom of the email with the POC

*the POC/DORA may not be the final invoice price & only an estimate…Ford/Stellantis occasionally has price increases during the course of production…once the vehicle is produced, we will be invoiced from Ford/Stellantis…we will provide you a copy of the invoice & honor our pricing discount (ie % under invoice/$ off MSRP) in this email thread off based on what Ford/Stellantis invoices us at time the vehicle is produced.

It was not on the POC for the 4xe I ordered in November
