It seems like these 2 cars are the best SUV deals out there unless you go with a small bare bones Equinox. It seems like I can get a QX60 for around the $400 mark and if the deals are what they were on the highlander will be at the $300 mark. With the QX being 36 month and the Highlander 24.
What would you guys chose? I like them both for different reasons.
Anyone have updated numbers they could share? I need 15k per year.
So is having slightly more luxury and potentially more insurance costs worth it for the Infiniti? So at the minimum the QX60 is going to cost you $1,200 more a year to have payment-wise.
Also when you want to get out of it (trade-in) early then who is going to have the better residual? (HINT: it’s the Highlander)
There are Toyota special deals on the XLE Highlander for my zipcode of 44060. $309.00 for 36 months BUT with $4099.00 down plus tax, title, license, dealer fees, etc.
Several months ago I think the deal was around $299.00 with $3900.00 or so down.
Agreed. A highlander xle is probably around the same price as a base QX60 if I had to guesstimate. About $400 plus tax. Hackers may be able to negotiate better deals than that though.
Just my two cents on this. I have driven both, and although the QX60 is covered in leather it is an incredibly dated car. It feels like an old truck to drive, passengers bounce around in the rear seats and the dashboard and controls are really showing their age. Please do not think you are getting a luxury bargain by buying this car. It is a Nissan Pathfinder by any other name. I have recently driven the Kia Sorento SXL and I would take that every day of the week over a QX60. It feels decades newer and more up to date. As for the Highlander, good car made much better by the new gearbox and engine introduced in 2017. MSD’s help loads as Toyota have zero rebates right now.
Now having said all that I am not saying that the QX60 is a bad car but go in eyes wide open, everyone looks for different things in cars so my view is just that, mine.
Also, the QX60 does not get great crash safety results if you don’t spec it up with the forward collision detection.
