QX60 brakes almost shot at 10k miles

Hoping for some info here. Took my wife’s QX60 in for the 10k service at a Nissan dealer because it’s much closer and can get an oil change and tire rotation for 50 bucks. They couldn’t believe it but the brakes are 4/32 in the front and 5/32 in the rear. Tires are 4/32 too… we bought it over Memorial Day last year and the majority of miles are from trips to the beach and to Charlotte. Brakes are hardly used when you’re on the highway… and all of the other miles are by my wife and she drives pretty conservatively.

The service advisor said if it was a Nissan there’s a 12/12 warranty where everything would be replaced, as well as diagnosed to fix the problem. He wasn’t aware of Infiniti’s policy.

I’m dropping it off at the Infiniti dealer Tuesday night. Any tips on how I should handle this?

Allot of manufacturers have that 12/12 deal, seems really odd for brakes to go that fast. Seems like they would cover it or get it good willed. Now if there was obvious abuse that’s another story. You never know, there could have been a bad batch of brake pads and they may have a service bulletin on it.

My QX60 is at 20k miles and a year and a half old and tires have plenty of tread and while I haven’t checked the brakes, they didn’t mention it during my oil change/rotation. Seems odd that yours would be bad so soon.
