Quote not getting acknowledged

In my case, I had not signed the deal the store sent. However, I did decide to take the agreement and placed my response in writing. I consulted with my attorney (just in case - I had forgone other lease offers because of it), and his response was they could give me the deal or go to court and be forced to provide me with the contract due to written proof of commitment on both of our parts.

My guess is they were aware of this and made everything more comfortable for both of us.

You mentioned contacting a lawyer, and while you didn’t mention ā€œsueā€ per se, why bother? He asked ā€œwhat legal recourse do I have?ā€ To me, it’s the equivalent of little Billy trying to get someone in trouble on the playground by telling the principal Suzy hit him.

Move on and try someone else. To me, it’s not worth my time or energy to try and get this dealership in trouble somehow, or to look into legal recourse. Maybe I’m just different. It’s happened to me before…that guy just lost my business and I find my car elsewhere.

Go to your local new stations and see if they do consumer complaint segments. The dealership does not want a reporter there filming and asking questions.

And that is me, not the OP.

Also, I have never sued anyone in my life. But I will never allow anyone to take advantage of me. That is what my attorney is for - to use his time to correct situations. I lose none (or very, very little).

Just my take. Everyone on this earth is going to have a different one.

OP, just move on. The energy you expend getting a lawyer, media, or dealer principal involved is not worth the effort. Diminishing returns.

Not another one of these threads.

If the dealership messed you around deliberately leave them a negative review on Google, etc and detail your experience. If it was a genuine mistake, move on with your life.

They will do both depending on how you present the information. Understand that they are human too. If you back someone in a corner they try to get out with reason or with flight. Give them an out, a path of least resistance and they will be more likely to take it.

How does showing them a competitive quote put them in a corner?

Deal isn’t a deal until the papers are signed. Not even when a deposit is left. Cars are sold every day. You have no damages. Verdict for the defendants.

Agree with the last post. Errors in advertising happen ALL THE TIME and cars are sold out from under people ALL THE TIME. The dealership is a private business and they are under no legal obligation until contracts are signed.
