I currently have a Charger leased through Chrysler Capital, lease is up in a couple of weeks. I have another Charger on order, Chrysler told me that I can extend my lease up to 6 months if I provide an order #. Chrysler doesn’t allow selling to Carmax/Carvana/etc if lease is up within 60 days. Has anyone been successful with getting the 6 month extension and then selling the car to a 3rd party such as Carmax to avoid having to deal with buying the car out and paying sales tax? Or does the extension not qualify and Chrysler still sees this lease as “within 60 days of the initial 36 month lease”?
There have been reports that the extension starts the clock over, but i don’t kniw that anyone has tested it recently
