Does Toyota apply incentives based on where the dealership is located, or where I reside? For example if I lease a car from neighboring state and the lease incentives are drastically different.
Toyota has several regional entities outside TFS. EG the southeast is financed by SETF, etc.
So it depends on which states and whether they are covered by the same entity.
Socal and NorCal, Arizona, or Pacific Northwest
So no idea on those areas Max?
I don’t know but @Cody_Carter might
Really depends. NorCal and az wouldn’t be a problem. But buying out of state is a nightmare with DMV. You’ll end up making a few trips
Yeah I know, DMV will be a pain but it might be worth it to get the exact car I want for a few thousand less though. Do you have to go through the whole smog and inspection process with CA DMV for a new out of state car or just pay the registration?
PNW Toyota dealer said that regional Socal lease incentives don’t apply there so maybe they’re different? Haven’t really heard word back from the AZ guy yet. I get the feeling they don’t really know, or the people that do know don’t really work on the weekends.
I used to work in AZ. You can use their incentives but if you plan on leasing from out of state you will need to contact toyota and have them send the original title to your local DMV. Get a smog check and weight check.
Not sure if all new Toyota models are 50-State compliant. Which Toyota are you getting? Make sure it is because you will need to do smog and inspection with CA DMV, even if it’s new.
I don’t think I’ve seen a vehicle without 50 state emissions on the sticker, but then again maybe that’s just on the vehicles I’ve seen around here in Socal.
I’m looking at a 2017 Prius Prime base trim and they’re all sold out in Socal currently, and not a big fan of any of the upper trim levels or the higher price that goes along with them.
What about using CA incentives when buying a car in AZ?
Nope that won’t work. The dealer can only apply their incentives.
Ah I see. When I was looking at GM they said they applied the incentives based on your address.
