I’m looking at a 2016 BMW 340xi executive demo. One dealership had told me before that I qualified for fleet pricing because my brother in law works for Chrysler and my dad retired from there. Another is telling me that fleet pricing doesn’t apply to executive demos. Does anyone have a definitive answer?
If it is CPO, then fleet discount will not apply. If it is never registered, just a demo, they should provide fleet discount. But I believe it is up to the manager
Thank you. They list it in their inventory as an “executive demo” with about 3k miles. Carfax shows the owner as “corporate fleet”. Does that mean it “should” qualify if I can get them to apply it?
Here is what it said. I tried to format it so it would look right but it didn’t work well.

That’s a good point. I wasn’t sure how that worked. They seem to be dropping the ball on other things at the moment. The numbers they sent me for a 36/12k lease look wrong. The residual calculates as 59% instead of 61% and it looks like they are marking the money factor up to the max allowed even though they haven’t shown me all the numbers yet.
Does this look like a decent MSRP discount?
MSRP $61,620
Selling Price $50,575 (18%)
It has about 3k miles.
This is strange. If a dealer has that “exec demo” in their possession, why would they send it to auction where anybody can buy it? How is that different from demos or loaners? I’d think once it goes through auction, it can’t be considered a “new” car.
But an Exec demo is not theirs, it is a BMW NA car, hence why most of them are registered in NJ. I would think a car that a dealer registered would come under loaners or end up being CPO.
I only know this because of my Friends at BMW NA who told me the best deal on any M3/M4 was to get one from the auction that had been a track day car and had disclaimers against it. They said consumers are scared of cars with disclaimer but the manager and sales staff snap them up for very little and get a new car lease on them.
Apparently every car that goes through the auction is fully prepped by BMW and ready to sell on the dealer forecourt.
I know nothing about BMW inner workings. But are you saying that exec demos are not physically on some dealer’s lot? And if they are - then when they get trough auction, anybody can buy them, not just BMW dealers.
No no, sorry for the confusion, it is an internal BMW auction just for their dealers. Thing is different parts of the US like different cars and color combinations. So one car might be worth more to one dealer than another, hence the auction. All the Exec demos belong to BMW NA and are then sold to the dealers through this method, the cars are basically, press cars, corporate shuttles, experience days cars, track cars etc etc. Very few belonged to executives.
I found the source for my claim, preowned BMW cars are not eligible for fleet discount.
