Hello all I will try to make this as short as possible. My wife was at fault driving our leased vehicle that we got in Feb 2025. The accident happened in April and has been in the body shop since the beginning of May, so its been while now with the body shop and progressive going back and forth with a final repair estimate from the body shop being 12k.
Progressive is now not willing to repair my vehicle to condition it was in before the accident according to the body shop. I trust my shop and believe what they are saying. According to them, Progressive, "the right front door should be repaired and not replaced. "
But the intrusion beam has been compromised so I need a new door, not for it to repaired.
According to my shop, they have never had an insurance company not want to repair a vehicle in the correct manner, especially, when given all of the pertinent factual material directly from the manufacture of the vehicle. So now my shop is saying I might have to get the insurance commissioners office of Colorado involved in this matter and hire a third party non biased independent appraiser that is qualified in these situations.
So what else would wehave to do? Would this be a civil matter as well? I doubt lawyers would me in this situation. We are also waiting on a supervisor from Progressive to respond on this matter.
