Pro Tip: Avoid Mercedes Electric Vehicles

My EQS died on me for two hours in Palm Desert for two hours in the summer. It was a holiday weekend and MB 800 number told me they can’t tow my car to the nearest dealership. It just randomly started. Terible experience.

I have electrical errors often (ambient lighting, radar down).

So yes, I would stay away from Merc EV cars too.

I never take the EQS out for family vacations anymore

IDK if Maxcare is a great value any more, especially when you include the premium you’re paying to buy a car from Cmax in the first place.

Agreed…that being said, can you infiltrate BMW and the banks? Gotta heavily subsidize those X5M’s. All we need is a $40-50K tax credit. Lmk when theyre 600 pm with 0 das…thx

I think MaxCare definitely depends on a car. If you’re looking at something pretty reliable like a newer BMW, might as well just pay for repairs as they come. But with these newer MB products and their immensely complex electronics, it is definitely a good buy and piece of mind

I could have told you this before buying. Sorry to hear.

oh wow this will definitely scare them into submission…

Its a pity people don’t realize this. One size does not fits all.

2016 BMW X5 M | eBay?

$600 a month on a 48 month loan…

You know this is a good deal since they put “Pros: Rebuilt Texas Title in hand”

They offered to buyback the car and give you a full refund - so what is the problem exactly? Just take the $ and move on.

I’ve had an EQS 580 SUV since April of 2023 knock on wood no issues. Now my BMW I7 thats another story. So many damn recalls. So many. That car was rushed.

Most if not all EVs seemingly have been rushed. Not too many have been immune from issues.

It’s one of the reasons why the second gen LEAF is so reliable.

It’s just a rework of an EV that came out in 2011 and they more or less addressed the biggest fault issue in the 1st gen: the battery.

It also helps that it’s a pretty simple vehicle to begin with. Mo’ features/tech, Mo’ problems.

All those features and tech are wonderful until they decide to take a massive dump in the middle of an obstacle course on a beach. Then you start to wish that maybe you had something a little simpler.

Completely agreed!

Mercedes-Benz EQ vehicles have a ton of problems in general and their MB USA Corporate is the worst to deal with.
