Powder Coating Rims on a Leased Car

As the title states, can I powder coat rims on a leased car (Audi) and return it like that at the end of the lease, without being charged any additional fees? Or would I have to return it without any mods?

FWIW, I have read opposing views on this subject. However, I do understand I would have to abide by the terms listed in my signed contract. I could ask my dealer.

I wouldn’t expect that to be “ok”. It may not be noticed by the inspector, depending on how oem it looks.

On a leased car, I’d pick up one of the wheel kits from dipyourcar.com

I actually plasti dipped the rims on my old Honda Accord (It was a purchase). It was kind of a pain to do, but it was cheap. I am going to definitely check out what color options they have these days.

Doesn’t powder coating take off factory wheel finish? I would not expect AFS to be fine with altering the wheels.

Did you take the A6 deal?

Will update the board when papers have been signed.

The plastidip of days past and what you can get these days are very different in quality/finish.

I just watched a YouTube video about it. You are correct. They now have Hyperdip. Supposed to be much better that the old plasti dip.

Dipyourcar.com has a fantastic YouTube channel for walking through all their stuff

Even worse than that, standard-temp powdercoat will alter the heat treatment of an aluminum wheel and can structurally weaken it.
